The scenic hilltop of Meesapulimala can only be reached via trekking and it takes one day to complete. The Meesapulimala trek route has two major trails. The shorter trail is around 8 kilometers and takes you through the natural landscapes of Rhodo valley. Stroll through gushing lakes, hilly areas, lush valleys and scores of rhododendron trees on this trail.
The second trail to Meesapulimala starts from Kurangani and is about 15 kilometers long. Low-hanging clouds, chilly weather and abundant flora will make this trek a delight. You may also be able to spot barking deers, leopards, langurs, wild cats and tigers.
How to reach Rhodo Valley
If you choose the shorter trail to Meesapulimala, you will first have to reach Rhodo Valley. To reach this valley, first you must board a bus towards Munnar. Munnar is around 463 kilometers from Bangalore. From Munnar, board a jeep towards Rhodo Valley.
For those who are traveling by air, the nearest airport is at Cochin, from where you will have to take a cab or train till Munnar.
How to reach Kurangani
For those who want to take the longer trail to Meesapulimala, you will have to travel till Kurangani. Firstly, you can board a bus till Theni in Tamil Nadu, that is about 430 kilometers from Bangalore. Then, board a bus to Bodia and from here you can finally board a bus till Kurangini.
If you want to travel by air, then the nearest airport to Kurangani is Madurai International airport. There are also several trains that you can take to this destination and the nearest station is Bodinayakkanur.
