History of Pachmarhi

Panch means five and Mari means caves, it is Believed that this is how Pachmarhi was named. Some people also believes that these marhi(caves) were built by the five Pandava Mahabharata brothers. These marhi (caves) are situated on top of the hills in Pachmarhi. Good king Bhawut Singh ruled over Pachmarhi and then Britishers took it over. One you will be on Pachmarhi city tour, you should definitely Pachmarhi forests, they have very rare varieties of plants and trees which are beautiful to see.
