About Pachmarhi Attractions
Pachmarhi, the tallest and also called the queen of Satpura resides alluringly among the ranges of Satpura. This hill station is situated in the district of Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh . It is located at a height of approx 1068 m. Pachmarhi is recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and because of this Pachmarhi today is one of the favorable places for tourists. Pachmarhi isn't a big town and most of the area here is under the administration of Pachmarhi Cantonment Board who serves the Indian Army. Pachmarhi is listed in the India's highest waterfalls.
History of Pachmarhi
Panch means five and Mari means caves, it is Believed that this is how Pachmarhi was named. Some people also believes that these marhi(caves) were built by the five Pandava Mahabharata brothers. These marhi (caves) are situated on top of the hills in Pachmarhi. Good king Bhawut Singh ruled over Pachmarhi and then Britishers took it over.
