About Pachmarhi Attractions

Pachmarhi, the tallest and also called the queen of Satpura resides alluringly among the ranges of Satpura.

This hill station is situated in the district of Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh . It is located at a height of approx 1068 m. Pachmarhi is recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and because of this Pachmarhi today is one of the favorable places for tourists. Pachmarhi isn't a big town and most of the area here is under the administration of Pachmarhi Cantonment Board who serves the Indian Army. Pachmarhi is listed in the India's highest waterfalls.

History of Pachmarhi

Panch means five and Mari means caves, it is Believed that this is how Pachmarhi was named. Some people also believes that these marhi(caves) were built by the five Pandava Mahabharata brothers. These marhi (caves) are situated on top of the hills in Pachmarhi. Good king Bhawut Singh ruled over Pachmarhi and then Britishers took it over. One you will be on Pachmarhi city tour, you should definitely Pachmarhi forests, they have very rare varieties of plants and trees which are beautiful to see.

Culture of Pachmarhi

The loving and helpful nature of people in Pachmarhi make everyone feels welcomed. Languages which are mainly spoken by natives of Pachmarhi are Hindi, Bhilori, Naali and Gondi. Other than these many other like English and Urdu as well can be heard. The religions in the town are Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and you can also come across people of different local tribes. People here celebrate Pachmarhi Utsav which goes on for days. In mahadeo caves, Shivaratri is celebrated.

The trip was ok. The driver aligned on Day-1 was very rude. Dint know the way to talk to guest. He was very frustrating and irritating person. Dint even know how to drive, I would have rated driver 0, but the driver on day2 was good, hence I have given 3 stars. The travel agent was supportive, however it seems there were gaps as what were discussed with him and planned. We had a flight landing at 7 and when we visited hotel, the manager told us that the checkin would be at 12 pm. On calling the travel agent he said that the hotel arrangment is on the basis of availability. Ideally he should have told me earlier if this was the situation. Also his alignment with the cab agency was also not good. The cab agent was telling something and the travel agent said something else. I mean this kind of scenarios would have been avoided if they had a better planning before my visit. I bit disappointed with the experience I had this time. I have been travelling with travel triangle from quite some time and things have been great. Hoping to have better services in future.

Thanks for the help provided booking and travel. Except one hotel in Ujjain other hotels were fine. The cab driver though didn’t have much knowledge about the places, was very helpful and punctual through out the trip. Club 7 vacation person Neha was available whenever we needed any info/help.

It was a nice trip , the best part was cab and driver he guided us in a best way and drove according to our requirements. The only part was ventilation system of hotel although the room services were better. If the hotel was nearby to the temple it could had been memorable ...but overall nice experience Harsiddhi mata temple visit , perfect aarti timings

Dhupgarh is the highest peak of Satpura range. In Fact at night you can also see tarsi( neighbour town) lights.

In Pachmarhi forests you will find mangoes, jamun, custard fruit and not much known by the people but mouth-watering fruits such khatua, tendu, chunna, khinni and chaar.

The most beautiful waterfall of Pachmarhi is duchess fall. You will find the doctor fish made by the waterfall in pool.

One should definitely buy handicraft items which are made by the locals and handmade baskets also the products with the work of bamboo, metal artifacts, unique paintings made by the locals. The ayurvedic items may it be medicine or honey are of topmost quality in pachmarhi.
