Spread over an area of 155,707 sq km, the state of Odisha (formerly known as Orissa) is home to many intriguing things and ancient temples surely outstand them all. The capital city, Bhubaneshwar, is itself home to more than 700 temples. There are a plethora of prominent temples situated in this state. Initially known as the kingdom of Kalinga, Odisha is situated on the east coast of the country and has a glorious past. The state has been ruled over by different dynasties, thus, acquiring the essence of them all. Some of the top temples situated in Odisha are Puri Jagannath, Konark Sun Temple, Lingaraja Temple, Brahmeswara Temple, Mukteswar Temple, Parasurameswara Temple, Rajarani Temple, Taratarini Temple, Ram Mandir, etc.

Jagannath Temple: Jagannath Temple is situated in the city of Puri. It is one of the most prominent pilgrimage sites of Odisha. The temple was established in the 12th century.

Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra is one of the most famous events that take place in the temple. The temple is addressed by many names such as Shrikshetra, Srimandira, Bada Deula, or Puri Jagannath. This Hindu temple is devoted to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Deity Subhadra. The temple has four entry gates, each of which is facing a different direction.

Sun Temple: The famous Sun Temple is situated in the town of Konark in Odisha. Just as the name suggests, this Hindu temple is dedicated to Sun God. It is one of the prominent heritage sites in India. It was constructed by King Narasimha Deva of the Ganga Dynasty in the 13 century. Apart from the prestigious values, the Sun Temple, Orissa, is also an epitome of architecture. The space of the temple is subdivided into two different parts, i.e., Natya mandapa and Jagamohana. One of the major events that take place in the temple is an annual five-day dance festival that takes place in the month of December. This temple in Odisha is one of the most visited.

Lingaraja Temple: Lingaraja Temple in Bhubaneswar is categorized as one of the oldest temples in the city. The temple has a height of 180 ft. There are many scriptures carved on the walls of the temple, thus, making a trip to this temple all the more intriguing. The best time to visit this temple is during the months of January and March. Bindusagar tank is situated at a distance of just 450 meters from the temple. One can also find the reference of this temple in Brahma Puran. The temple is subdivided into the Garbh Griha, the Yajna Shalam, the Bhoga Mandap, and the Natya Shala.

Chandi Temple: Chandi Temple is located in Cuttack. Cuttack Chandi Mandir is a must-see temple on a trip to Odisha. It situated by the banks of the Mahanadi river. The temple is devoted to Deity Katak Chandi. During the occasions of Navratri and Vijayadashami, the temple receives maximum tourist footfall.

Parasurameswara Temple: This temple is situated in the city of Bhubaneswar. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The architectural style of the temple is the Nagara style. It is one of the must-visit temples on a trip to the capital city.

Mukteswar Temple: Mukteshwar Temple, Bhubaneswar, is considered one of the most beautifully constructed temples of Odisha. The architecture of the temple resembles a Buddhist architectural style. In **Puri**, The room was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was polite and attentive., I stayed in a centrally located hotel that was perfect for exploring the temples and other local attractions. One of my favourite hotel stay at Taptapani hill Resort. The amenities were top-notch, and the rooms were spacious, ensuring a restful stay after a day of sightseeing. ### 2. **Cab Service:** The cab service throughout my trip was excellent. “Basudeb” was punctual, professional, and well-versed with the routes to all the tourist spots. The Toyota Rumion was comfortable and air-conditioned, making long rides enjoyable. “Basudeb” also provided valuable insights into the culture and history of the places we visited, which added a personal touch to the journey. ### 3. **Key Places Visited:** - **Jagannath Puri Temple:** The highlight of my trip, the **Jagannath Temple** in Puri is an architectural marvel. The atmosphere is electric, filled with devotion and grandeur. It was a great experience. The services of both the travel agent Mr. Shibhashish and driver Mr. Sujan Kumar were excellent and highly recommended. Stay at hotel pride ananya was very comfortable. An advice to anyone visiting Orissa, please stay alert for all pandit jis.. most of them want more and more money out of you and it ruins the whole experience of visiting the temples... never saw this scenario anywhere except Puri, was highly disappointed. Would request tour organizers to make people aware of the same. The only Saving grace was successful darshan of bhagwan Jagannath ji. Visit to Chandrabagha beach, konark and Jagannath temple.

Overall our trip was very good. Mr Shibashis from Inde D Voyage included all the places we wanted to visit and we had a near perfect itinerary for 5 days. The driver Mr. Videshi was very cooperative and had all the knowledge of the places we visited and we had a great time interacting with him. We were 2 female travellers only and we felt very safe through out the entire trip. The driver was able to adapt in the case of unseen circumstances and changed the order of the places to give us ample time to visit the places properly. Only one thing regarding Hotel Sapphire Plaza the day we reached, the room had smelly bedsheets and pillow covers but they did change it after complaining, so it was good service from the hotel management. The breakfast served at both the hotels was good. We will definitely visit Puri again with the same agency in future.

Entire trip was good except the additional charges they asked for child. Travel agent and hotel argued that child is not included in my request. Though it was clearly mentioned in the invoice, 3 adults, 1 child, they blamed Travel Triangle for not sending them the child's information. Finally I had to pay for child additionally for 1 breakfast.

The trip was nice. The only feedback I would like to give is that while making the itinerary the a'noon & evening should be taken care of. The places which are best to go in evening time like Peace pagoda, Udaygiri & Khandagiri caves should be planned in evening time & not in the mrng or a'noon when it's v sunny & hot. We would have enjoyed those places v much if they would have been in our itinerary in the evening time.
