Our trip to Kerala was a memorable one. Everything was very well arranged by our travel agent. Mr. Nitin from Balaji Vacations and Tourism was always just a call away whenever we needed. Hotels and cab provided to us were very good. The cab driver was very cooperative.

Everything was ok, except hotel isola de coco. I was told while booking that it is in kovalam, but it was in Poovar just adjacent to the one which I stayed for previous days. Even the itinerary mention it in kovalam. It is a kind of misguidance on Agents part because when I visited kovalam, it’s totally a different place and not same as Poovar as told by travel agent. Last resort in Munnar (Exilir) was very bad, that was not a five star property, rather it can not be given 3 star. Food was so low quality, stinky room with stinky toilets. It is only when I asked staff to change my room , they took initiative. Rameshwaram was incredible, Munnar teas estate is something lifetime visit

The trip started very well with best amazing driver. Shafiq bhai treat mental and hospitality was too good.. Athriappoly casa rio was amazing . Munnar amberdale was amazing.. Biggest issue was lack of knowledge given by tour operators of the entry fees and extra inside things which are in kerela. We spend around 40000 rs extra. Alleppey house boat pickadiky was horrible and so was spice grove in thekkady. Uday samudra was too good and kovalam as well.. All in all good journey but houseboat and thekkady stay money needs to be refunded.. Casa Rio Athirappily waterfalls Munnar sunrise Waterfalls Mountain safari Dreamland Elephant bath Spice plantation Scenearies Kovalam beach Uday samudra resort and room view.

Overall it was a great trip. Hotel locations were pretty good. Specially liked Munnar Blanket resort, which had really great hospitality and service. Our main cab and cab driver were great too. Ranjith (our cab driver) was very polite, punctual and cooperative. Alleppey houseboat was disappointing experience, as the houseboat was not so great, and weather too hot. We could have probably skipped Alleppey altogether. Poovar island resort was a great property but service and floating villas maintenance was really poor. Kochi, Sea lagoon resort was again a great property at amazing location, but poor hospitality and food options. We had a different cab for a day in Kochi, which was a pathetic experience as the driver took us to a random sight seeing trip which we did not plan, and also did not stay back full day as was expected. At this point, there was no helpful response from our travel agent too.

Driver was supposed to be driver cum guide but he didn't provide us proper information. Dams in Munnar close boating around 4-5 pm. We reached everywhere at closing time. We also reached Houseboat at 2 pm, we had asked our driver what time we should checkout and leave for Allaphuza, we wanted to reach atleast by 12. He told us leaving 9:30 - 10:00 should be enough to reach on time but we were late. It was the same story all the time. After our first day experience we had to always keep track of him on what the plan was to make sure things went well but sometimes it wasn't possible. He would randomly change plans without consulting us. He was not a good guide. House boat experience was also not good. We did not get the boat arrangements like promised, also the Houseboat guy did not show us around the boat but kept our bags in boat and left. We realized the arrangements were not good after the boat trip started. Overall we did not get our Money's worth. We were also promised Honeymoon inclusions which were not provided. We expected booking through Travel agent will make our trip efficient but it was not the case, a better guide would have made a lot of difference. He was good as a driver but not as a guide.

Overall, the trip was good and the itinerary covered all the sights we wanted to see. The biggest issue we had was that the tour offered an English speaking guide but our guide spoke only a few words of English and we struggled to ask basic questions and kept communication to a minimum. He was really a driver. He dropped us off at the different sites and did not accompany us or give us any background about the things we saw. I complained to Book It and Forget It travel agency on the first day but they did not make any changes. Otherwise, our guide was an easy going, punctual, nice guy who really loves getting from point A to B in the shortest time possible (which also meant we skipped lunch if we didn’t ask for a stop). We never felt unsafe, but his seatbelts didn’t work and was passing cars on windy mountain roads with 1 lane traffic. The accommodations were overall nice, some with really nice views! No major complaints, but some were actually 3 star hotels when the package promised 4 stars and above. Alleppey house boat was very scenic and nice and the home cooked meal was the best!
