About Fregate Island in Seychelles
Fregate Island is a tiny little world in itself, tucked away to the easternmost part of the Seychelles Granitic Inner Islands in the Indian Ocean, around 55km east of the capital Mahe. 200 years of colonial-era plantation practices had robbed Fregate Island, Seychelles off most of its natural resources, which is why extensive restoration projects are taking place at the moment.
Thanks to the privatization of the island, it is one of the most secluded and hideout you will ever find. There are sixteen villas on Fregate Island Private, catering to those looking forward to spending a weekend or more within the abundant lushness of the island, right in the middle of everything authentically tropical. Word is, the pirates once used to favor this island as a hideout for their loots as well. The main Fregate Island beach is Anse Victorin, which has won The World’s Best Beach award multiple times. There are six more beaches here – all covered in warm, white sands and shimmering blue water, lined up with the most exotic collection of tropical plants in the background. At the beach, you will find the Hawksbill Turtles, Green Turtles, and Aldabra Giant Tortoises.
