From Delhi you continue by overnight Volvo or cab, roughly 8 to 14 hours depending on whether you are heading to Shimla, Manali or Dharamshala; from Chandigarh the drive is shorter, about 3.5 hours to Shimla. Himachal's own small airstrips at Kullu-Bhuntar and Dharamshala-Gaggal have limited, weather-dependent flights via Delhi, so most Chennai travellers route through Chandigarh instead. By train and road
