Kashmir Tour Packages From Delhi

Flight, train and bus packages from Delhi, reviewed by 4,052 Kashmir travellers, with free quotes.: rated 4.4/5 (based on 4053 reviews) | Packages starting from ₹5,599/-

Kashmir Tour Package From Delhi

Kashmir tour packages from Delhi start at Rs 14,500 per person on twin sharing for 3 nights and 4 days across Srinagar, Pahalgam and Gulmarg, with hotel, breakfast, a private cab and airport transfers included. Most Delhi travellers book 4 to 6 nights instead.
That leaves room for Sonamarg and a night on a Dal Lake houseboat, and it means you are not spending half the trip in a car.

Getting there is the easy part. A nonstop flight from Delhi to Srinagar takes about an hour and a half, and one-way fares sit between Rs 3,000 and Rs 9,000 outside the peak weeks. If you'd rather go overland, take an overnight train to Katra or Jammu and change to the Vande Bharat, which now runs all the way into Srinagar over the Chenab bridge. Sleeper buses also leave Kashmere Gate ISBT every evening.

Every package below is run by a verified local agent and can be changed day by day. Share your dates, get quotes from up to three agents, and compare them side by side before you pay anything. Which Kashmir Package from Delhi Should You Pick?

3 Nights 4 Days Kashmir Package from Delhi

The cheapest way to see more than Srinagar. In four days you see Srinagar, Pahalgam and Gulmarg, with a private cab doing all the driving. It suits a long weekend from Delhi if you take the first morning flight in and the last one out. Breakfast is included, other meals are not. See the 3N/4D itinerary.

4 Nights 5 Days Kashmir Package from Delhi

Our most booked Delhi trip. You unpack once in Srinagar for three nights and spend the fourth on a Dal Lake houseboat, with day trips out to Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg. Breakfast and dinner are included. At Rs 16,800 it costs only a little more than the 3N/4D and adds Sonamarg. View the 4N/5D package.

5 Nights 6 Days Kashmir Package from Delhi with Flight

The one to pick if you want a single price that already covers the Delhi to Srinagar flights. It includes return airfare, hotels in Srinagar, a day in Gulmarg, sightseeing and daily breakfast. It's the main answer for anyone searching for a Kashmir tour package from Delhi with flight. See the with-airfare package.

6 Nights 7 Days and 7 Nights 8 Days from Delhi

Longer trips slow the pace down. You get two days in Pahalgam, so Betaab and Aru get proper time instead of a rushed afternoon, and the 7N/8D adds a second day in Gulmarg. The 6N/7D includes a houseboat night, a one-hour shikara ride, and breakfast and dinner. 6N/7D package · 7N/8D package.

Ideal Duration

Five or six days is the right length for a first Kashmir trip from Delhi. Each of the big three day trips (Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg) takes most of a day from Srinagar, and you lose a few hours on each end getting to and from the airport. Four days works if you skip Sonamarg. With seven days or more you can sleep in Pahalgam and Gulmarg instead of driving back each evening.

Travelling by train or bus? Add a day each way. If you are keen on adding Leh and Ladakh, the road from Sonamarg over Zoji La opens in summer, and our Kashmir Ladakh tour packages pair the two regions in one trip.

Best Time To Visit Kashmir from Delhi

Each season gives you a different trip, and Delhi's own weather decides a lot of bookings. For month-by-month detail, read our guide to the best time to visit Kashmir.

Season Months What you get Book from Delhi
Spring March to May Tulip Garden in Srinagar for about a month from late March, almond blossom at Badamwari, days of 15 to 25°C Four to six weeks ahead, April and May fill fast
Summer June to August Green meadows at Gulmarg and Sonamarg, Thajiwas trail and Zoji La road open. Pahalgam is busy during the Amarnath Yatra in July and August June is the costliest month to fly in
Autumn September to November Chinar leaves turn red from late October, thinner crowds, lower hotel rates Two to three weeks ahead is usually enough
Winter December to February Snow across the valley, skiing at Gulmarg, Chillai Kalan from 21 December to late January. Snow at Gulmarg often lasts into March Christmas and New Year sell out, book by October

Want snow on the trip? Our guide to snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir covers when and where it falls.

How To Reach Kashmir From Delhi?

You can reach Kashmir from Delhi by air, by train or by road. Flying is the quickest by a long way. The train is now a real option because of the new line into Srinagar, and the bus is the cheapest. Here is how they compare.

Mode Route Time Typical one-way fare Best for
Nonstop flight Delhi (DEL) to Srinagar (SXR) About 1 hr 30 min Rs 3,000 to 9,000 off-peak, higher in June and late December Short trips, families with kids, seniors
Train + Vande Bharat Delhi to Katra (overnight or Vande Bharat), then Vande Bharat 26401 to Srinagar 8 to 12 hrs to Katra, then about 3 hrs About Rs 1,700 to 3,200 for both legs in AC chair car Scenery over the Chenab bridge, travellers who skip flying
Direct sleeper bus Kashmere Gate ISBT to Srinagar (TRC Road) About 20 to 22 hrs About Rs 2,100 to 2,300 Backpackers and the tightest budgets
Car / self-drive Delhi, Jammu, Banihal, Srinagar on NH 44 (about 800 km) 16 to 18 hrs of driving, usually split with a night in Jammu Fuel and tolls, or a private cab Groups who want stops on the way

By Air

Srinagar International Airport is about 14 km from the city centre, and nonstop flights from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport take about an hour and a half. Flights leave through the day, so a morning departure gets you to your hotel by lunch. Your package includes the airport pick-up. Security at Srinagar airport is stricter than in most Indian cities, with a check at the gate before you reach the terminal, so plan to arrive two and a half to three hours before your flight home. A digital copy of your ticket on your phone is fine.

By Train

There is now a train all the way to Srinagar, but not a direct one from Delhi yet. The most comfortable plan is an overnight train such as the Shri Shakti Express (22461) from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. From Katra you board the Vande Bharat (26401), which leaves around 8:10 am and reaches Srinagar around 11:10 am after crossing the Chenab and Anji Khad bridges. The same train now starts at Jammu Tawi around 6:20 am, so the overnight Jammu Rajdhani (12425) works too. It runs six days a week and is off on Tuesdays.

The Katra to Srinagar leg costs Rs 715 to 880 in chair car and Rs 1,320 to 1,515 in executive class. A direct overnight Vande Bharat sleeper from New Delhi to Srinagar has been planned, but it was not running at our last update. Our guide to Delhi to Kashmir trains has every timing and class. Any package on this page can start from Srinagar railway station instead of the airport.

By Road

Delhi to Srinagar is about 800 km by road on NH 44, through Jammu, Udhampur and Banihal. The 9.2 km Chenani-Nashri tunnel now bypasses Patnitop, and the 8.5 km Banihal-Qazigund tunnel has replaced the old Jawahar Tunnel for most traffic. Driving takes 16 to 18 hours, so most people stop for a night in Jammu. If you are travelling with family or friends, a private car lets you take in the changing scenery at your own pace.

On a budget? Direct sleeper buses run every day from Kashmere Gate ISBT to Srinagar and take about 20 to 22 hours, for about Rs 2,100 to 2,300. You can also break it at Jammu and change to a J&K bus. If you want a Delhi to Kashmir bus package, ask the agent to price the bus leg into your quote. The Srinagar part of the trip stays the same.

Sample 5 Nights 6 Days Kashmir Itinerary from Delhi

This is the route most Delhi travellers end up choosing. It assumes a morning flight in and an afternoon flight out, and every day can be swapped around.

Day Route What you do Night
1 Delhi to Srinagar Fly in by midday. Afternoon at Nishat Bagh and Shankaracharya temple, then a sunset shikara on Dal Lake Srinagar hotel
2 Srinagar to Sonamarg and back (about 80 km each way) Thajiwas Glacier on foot or by pony, lunch by the Sindh river Srinagar hotel
3 Srinagar to Gulmarg and back (about 50 km each way) Gondola Phase 1 to Kongdoori, Phase 2 to Apharwat if the weather allows, snow from December Srinagar hotel
4 Srinagar to Pahalgam (about 95 km) Saffron fields at Pampore and the Awantipora ruins on the way, evening walk by the Lidder Pahalgam hotel
5 Pahalgam to Srinagar Betaab Valley and Aru Valley in a local union cab, drive back to Srinagar Dal Lake houseboat
6 Srinagar to Delhi Shalimar Bagh or Chashme Shahi if your flight is after lunch, then airport drop Home

Coming by train? You reach Srinagar around 11 am on Day 1, so the Day 1 plan still works, with one less garden. On the way home, the Vande Bharat back towards Katra and Jammu leaves Srinagar in the morning, so rail travellers should do their shikara ride on Day 1.

What Your Kashmir Package from Delhi Includes, and What It Doesn't

Most of the price difference between two quotes comes from what is left out. Check these before you compare.

Usually included Usually not included
Hotel stay on twin sharing (3-star unless you upgrade) Flights or train tickets from Delhi, unless the package says "with airfare"
Daily breakfast. Dinner as well on the 4N/5D and 6N/7D Lunch, and dinner on the shorter packages
Private cab for all transfers and sightseeing in the itinerary Local union cabs in Pahalgam (Betaab, Aru, Chandanwari) and Sonamarg (Zero Point), and ponies to Thajiwas Glacier
Pick-up and drop at Srinagar airport or railway station Gulmarg Gondola tickets, pony rides, sledges and ski hire
One-hour shikara ride on Dal Lake (on most 5-day and longer trips) Entry fees to gardens and monuments, tips, heating charges in winter
Toll, parking, driver allowance and taxes Personal expenses and anything not listed in the itinerary

Gondola, Pony and Local Cab Rules

Three local rules catch first-time visitors out. Your Srinagar cab cannot drive you to Betaab Valley, Aru or Chandanwari, because Pahalgam's sightseeing points are served only by the local taxi union. In Sonamarg, Thajiwas Glacier has no road access, so you walk the last stretch or hire a pony from the stand, and trips beyond town to Zero Point or Zoji La go only in Sonamarg union taxis. Budget for those cabs and ponies separately, or ask your agent to include them.

In snow, usually December to March, cabs are often stopped at Tangmarg, where you fit snow chains or switch to a local 4x4 for the last stretch up to Gulmarg. Ask your agent whether that cost is in the quote.

The Gulmarg Gondola sells tickets online only, through the J&K Cable Car Corporation portal, and there is no walk-up counter. Phase 1 to Kongdoori costs about Rs 800 and Phase 2 to Apharwat about Rs 1,000. Book as soon as your dates are fixed, because December to March slots go days in advance. Pony rides have union rates for set routes, so ask for the rate card at the stand before you get on.

Gulmarg, Pahalgam or Sonamarg: Where Your Days Go

Every package on this page is built around Srinagar plus day trips. In Srinagar you get a shikara ride on Dal Lake, the Mughal gardens (Nishat, Shalimar and Chashme Shahi) and usually a houseboat night. If you want the early floating vegetable market, ask your agent for a two-hour dawn ride. The three big day trips compare like this.

If you only have time for one Gulmarg Pahalgam Sonamarg
Best for Snow, skiing and the Gondola River valleys and easy walks Glacier views and summer meadows
Distance from Srinagar About 50 km, 2 hrs About 95 km, 2.5 to 3 hrs About 80 km, 2.5 to 3 hrs
Extra costs on the day Gondola Rs 800 to 1,000, ski or sledge hire Local union cab for Betaab and Aru Pony or a walk to Thajiwas, union taxi to Zero Point
Pick it in December to March April to October May to October

In Pahalgam, Betaab and Aru valleys are open, and Chandanwari opens when snow and security allow. The Baisaran meadow above the town has stayed closed to visitors since April 2025, so don't build a day around it. Our guides to Gulmarg and Pahalgam cover each stop in detail.

Packing and Practical Tips for Delhi Travellers

• Carry heavy woollen scarves, jackets and sweaters from October to March. Even in June, Gulmarg and Sonamarg get cold after sunset.

• If you plan on skiing or a snow day in Gulmarg, pack a pair of sturdy shoes with good grip, or hire snow boots there.

• Prepaid SIM cards from outside Jammu and Kashmir don't work in the valley. Postpaid connections do. Otherwise buy a local SIM with your ID.

• While you can use credit or debit cards at most hotels, keep some cash for shikaras, ponies, local cabs and small shops. ATMs are easy to find in Srinagar and harder to find in Pahalgam and Sonamarg.

Is Kashmir safe for tourists from Delhi?

The main tourist circuit of Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg is open and carries a heavy security presence, especially around Pahalgam. Expect ID checks on the highway and at the airport. Our agents follow local advisories day by day and will reroute a sightseeing day if a spot is closed. Before you fly, check the latest J&K Tourism and police updates for the places on your itinerary.

Kashmir can feel far away, but it is only about 90 minutes from Delhi by air, and the people who host you there are warm and welcoming. If you have always had Kashmir on your travel list, compare the Kashmir tour packages from Delhi above and pick the length that fits your leave.

FAQs About Kashmir Tour Packages

How much does a tour of Kashmir cost from Delhi?

A Kashmir tour from Delhi costs from Rs 14,500 per person on twin sharing for 3 nights and 4 days, without flights. The popular 4N/5D trip covering Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg starts at Rs 16,800, and a 5N/6D package with return airfare starts at Rs 22,399. Add Rs 3,000 to 9,000 each way if you book flights yourself. You can get the itinerary customised by mentioning your preferences.

What is the cheapest Kashmir tour package from Delhi?

The cheapest valley tour from Delhi on our site right now is the 3N/4D package at Rs 14,500 per person, with Srinagar, Pahalgam and Gulmarg. To keep the total low, travel by train or the direct sleeper bus instead of flying, and go in November or between mid-January and February, when hotel rates are at their lowest. Avoid June and the Christmas week.

What is the best month to visit Kashmir from Delhi?

Late March to June is the best time for most travellers from Delhi, with tulips in early April and green meadows through June. If you want snow and skiing, go between December and February, when Gulmarg is fully white. September to November is quieter and cheaper, with autumn colour in the gardens.

How can one go to Kashmir from Delhi?

Kashmir is connected to Delhi by air, rail and road. Nonstop flights to Srinagar take about an hour and a half. By train, take an overnight train to Katra or Jammu Tawi and then the Vande Bharat to Srinagar, which takes about 3 hours from Katra. Direct sleeper buses from Kashmere Gate ISBT take 20 to 22 hours.

Is there a direct train from Delhi to Srinagar?

Not yet. There is no direct train from Delhi to Srinagar at the time of our last update. A Vande Bharat sleeper on that route has been planned but has not started. You change at Katra or Jammu Tawi to the Vande Bharat 26401, which reaches Srinagar around 11:10 am and runs every day except Tuesday.

Kashmir package from Delhi with flight or by train, which is better?

Choose the flight if you have five days or fewer. It saves you a full day each way and costs Rs 3,000 to 9,000 one way off-peak. Pick the train if you have a week, want to save money, or want to see the Chenab bridge. The train plan needs an overnight leg to Katra, so you reach Srinagar around 11 am.

Can I book a Delhi to Kashmir package by Volvo bus?

Yes. Any of our packages can start with a bus leg. Direct sleeper buses leave Kashmere Gate ISBT daily, take about 20 to 22 hours and cost about Rs 2,100 to 2,300. Ask your agent to add the bus to the quote, and they will time your Srinagar pick-up to its arrival.

How many days are enough for a Kashmir trip from Delhi?

Five to six days is enough for Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg if you fly. Three nights works for a long weekend if you drop Sonamarg. If you travel by train or bus, add one day each way. Seven days or more lets you sleep in Pahalgam and Gulmarg instead of driving back to Srinagar each night.

What is included in a Kashmir tour package from Delhi?

Packages include hotel stay, daily breakfast, a private cab for transfers and sightseeing, and pick-up and drop at Srinagar. Longer trips add dinner, a houseboat night and a shikara ride. Flights are included only in with-airfare packages. Gondola tickets, pony rides, local union cabs in Pahalgam and Sonamarg, entry fees and lunch are extra.

Is Kashmir safe for tourists in 2026?

For most travellers, yes. The main tourist circuit of Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg is open and heavily guarded. A few spots, such as Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam, remain closed. Check the latest J&K Tourism and police advisories before you fly, carry photo ID for checkpoints, and let your local agent adjust sightseeing if an advisory changes.

Do I need a permit for Gulmarg, Sonamarg or Pahalgam?

No. Indian citizens don't need a permit for Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonamarg or Pahalgam. Carry an original government photo ID such as Aadhaar, a passport or a driving licence, because hotels and police checkpoints ask for it. Prepaid SIMs from other states won't work there, so carry a postpaid number or buy a local SIM.

Can I combine Vaishno Devi with a Kashmir tour from Delhi?

Yes. Katra is on the rail route to Srinagar, so it's easy to add a Vaishno Devi stop. Our Kashmir Vaishno Devi tour from Delhi runs 7 days. If you only want the pilgrimage, see our Vaishno Devi tour packages instead.

Things To Do In Kashmir

1. Explore the popular attractions of Srinagar

Located along the banks of the River Jhelum, Srinagar is known for its beautiful lakes, gardens, and historical monuments. There are many places of interest in Srinagar including Shankaracharya Temple, Mughal Gardens, Dal Lake, Nishat Bagh, Lal Chowk, Pahari Bhavan, Chashma Shahi, Hazratbal Shrine, and Hemis Monastery. While the capital is one of the most bustling cities you will ever experience, it is also one of the most cultural destinations in the country.

2. Shop at the local market

The local markets in Kashmir offer a great opportunity to shop for fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, and other food items. You'll find everything here from traditional Indian sweets to fresh pomegranates, apples, and oranges. The Zaina Kadal Road is a perfect place to start if you are in Srinagar as it is more centrally located and accessible easily from all major areas. It is also one of the best places to understand the local art and try some streetside delicacies.

3. Take a boat ride

Take a trip down Dal Lake in a wooden boat while enjoying the view of the surrounding mountains. Boats leave regularly throughout the day from different locations around the lake. While it is a mainstream activity that you will find often surrounded by crowds of tourists, it is worth making a trip to enjoy this classic experience that will give you a unique perspective of Kashmir and its relationship with nature.

4. Go hiking

Hiking is a great way to enjoy nature and get away from the busy city. Many popular trails lead out of the city and pass through the mountains. One trail goes through the picturesque pine forests of Gulmarg.

5. Explore the old town of Baramulla

Explore the narrow streets of the old town area where small shops sell souvenirs and clothes. Here you’ll find some of the oldest mosques in the region.

Tips

The only way to ensure that the trip is fruitful is if you plan even the most minute details. So, before you get sailing in paradise, here are a few tips to help you travel better:

  • Make sure you carry heavy woolen scarves, jackets, sweaters to enjoy the winter season.
  • If you plan on indulging in adventure sports like skiing, pack a pair of sturdy shoes to help you with it.
  • While you can use credit or debit cards at most places, keep some change when you are looking to buy local artisan goods. Ask about the price and bargain well before making the purchase.
  • Research well about the top tourist spots while booking Kashmir packages from Delhi.

Although Kashmir is perched at the top of the country and might seem to be secluded, the state is as hospitable and homely as it gets. The valley of Kashmir can rejuvenate your spirit by taking you closer to nature. If you have always had Kashmir on your travel bucket list, now is the time to strike it off with the best Kashmir tour packages from Delhi.
