Galle Holiday Packages

Galle is a glittering jewel perched on the Indian Ocean in south-western Sri Lanka, enticing travellers from the world over to witness its picturesque setting, vibrant atmosphere, unique architecture and historical fort. As you choose from our Galle packages, get ready for a memorable trip to one of the most loved destinations in Sri Lanka that offers everything a traveller could ask for.

As you walk along the majestic ramparts of Galle Fort, you can marvel at its impressive architecture and witness breathtaking ocean views on all three sides. This UNESCO world heritage site fort is truly a captivating attraction that presents the perfect blend of intriguing history, spectacular setting and interesting cultural elements. As you walk through this iconic fort created by the Portuguese and Dutch, you can explore the charming boutiques and quaint cafes that add to the allure of the place. Any trip to Galle would be incomplete without visiting the Unawatuna beach with its calming waters perfect for swimming and unwinding. While Galle’s National Museum is a treasure trove of the country’s relics, artefacts and history, Galle’s buzzing markets are a delight for shopaholics looking for some interesting knick-knacks and jewellery. Those looking for tranquil moments by the sea can witness a splendid sunset at the historic Flag Rock, while adventure seekers can indulge in scuba diving, snorkelling and surfing too. With rejuvenating spa options as well as the chance to try your hand at cooking local cuisine, Galle packages pack in the perfect ingredients for an escape from mundane routine.

How to Reach

By Air

The most convenient way to reach Galle from India is by taking a direct flight from one of the major cities to either Colombo or other two nearby airports. While flights to Colombo are available from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, you can also take a flight to Diyawanna airport from Chennai and Bengaluru. After reaching Colombo airport, you can take a convenient taxi to reach Galle in around 3 hours.

Best Time to Visit

Located on the south-western tip of Sri Lanka, Galle experiences tropical climate and moderate temperatures throughout the year ranging between 23 and 31 degrees Celsius. While it is a year round destination, December to April are considered the best months to book your Galle packages.

Summers

Galle experiences hot and dry weather during the summer months from December to February, with temperature hovering between 29-31 degrees. With plenty of sunshine and occasional rainfall, it is a good time to explore the outdoors. The months of February-April are considered the best for visiting this lovely coastal town as there is hardly any rainfall.

Monsoons

Galle experiences heavy rainfall between May and September, making it difficult to visit outdoor attractions. This is also the time to grab great deals.

Winters

October and November experience a drop in temperature as well as rainfall, making it a good time for adventure activities.

Places to Visit

Galle Fort

This majestic sea-side fort packs in a heady dose of history, architecture, culture and leisure, making it a must-visit site on all Galle packages. You can walk along the impressive ramparts for brilliant ocean views or amble along its vibrant streets to indulge in shopping and savouring local cuisine. It is also home to a few interesting museums within the fortified area.

National Museum of Galle

The impressive National Museum offers insights into the history and culture of the region, as well as displays a wide range of archaeological artefacts. You can witness a good collection of traditional masks, wood carvings and ornamental objects made from turtle shells.

Unawatuna

Considered to be amongst the best beaches of the country, Unawatuna is blessed with golden sands, turquoise waters and swaying palms. The picturesque setting and calm waters of the beach makes it a great place for unwinding and taking a refreshing dip during your memorable Galle tour.

Japanese Peace Pagoda

Nestled in the middle of rainforests between Galle fort and Unawatuna, this symbol of peace is a sanctuary of serenity that also offers panoramic views of the bay and surrounding jungles. It is one of the three Budhhist stupas in Sri Lanka and was built with the help of Japanese monks.

Flag Rock Bastion

This Portuguese bastion atop Flag Rock at the far end of Galle Fort was earlier used for signalling ships arriving at the shore, but is popular now for its marvelous sunset views and tranquil setting.

Abhishek's 8 days trip to Sri Lanka

Hi, Firstly, wishing you a very happy new year :) ✨ Thank you for your assistance and support. All in all, it was a wonderful experience in Sri Lanka. Roshan, our driving assistant and guide, was a treat to go around with. The circuit we were able to customise was great - it helped us cover the places we wanted to, while also not having to check in and out every morning. Galle's charm left us longing for more. Since we did not stay there this time, we hope to be able to plan something short covering Galle, Yala, and Ella (because the weather and train tickets non-availability didn't help this time around) sometime in the future. The stays at Topaz (Kandy), Cinnamon Bey (Beruwala), and Radisson (Colombo) were great. However, maybe we could have worked on something better instead of Heaven Seven (Nuwara Eliya) - the room was okayish and the buffet was unexpectedly limited. Everything said, Sri Lanka's hospitality and warmth, in addition to your management/arrangements were quite impressive as we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in Sri Lanka. Thank you very much for all the wonderful experiences. Hope to get in touch again. Regards, Abhishek and Anjali

Hari's 8 days trip to Sri Lanka

We had booked a land only package through Travel Triangle & their Channel partner Udani Holidays for Sri Lanka. We booked for 5 Sr Citizen couples. They planned our itinerary exactly as per choice and preferences. Sri Lankan Natural beauty is exceptional. The sea beaches are very good. Sea water is very clear. The beauty of beaches increases when we travel from North Srilanka towards south. Galle beach and old colony superb. The country is still suffering from the prolonged ethnic violence and recent political disturbance. So development is very little. But this has added to the beauty as most of the nature remains un exploited and is still virgin. Upkeep of all hotels in budget range was not at par with other destinations and India. Service also is bit slow. Still it is very good compared to the cost. There are 5 Stars hotels also like Taj etc but these are very costly. In summary Ideal place for relaxing, clean budget package. Our contact at Travel Triangle was Miss Chetna and for Udani Mrs Harshini. Miss Chetna maintained regular coordination between us and Udani. This helped us fine tune our trip. Mrs Hansini provided us good hotels and very good transport. She responded immediately for our queries seamless There was last minute cancellation of 1 couple from our group. But travel triangle and udani contacts managed cancellation of hotels without any charges and that too during the last week of December. I would like to end the review special mention of our driver Mr Kalum for 7 nights,. He is a very good person and extremely satisfied . He was always punctual and well behaved. We felt comfortable with him.

Karthikr's 5 days trip to Sri Lanka

We have booked our Honeymoon trip to SriLanka for 5 days. We had a wonderful tour guide for our entire trip. He was so humble and kind. Though it is a first time travel outside India, we enjoyed a most memorable trip. We landed in Colombo and travelled to Kandy. The drive was very pleasant as we could feel cool weather and kind hospitality. Our tour guide stopped at some significant places on the way. Whatever we drove, it was never a straight boring ride. We stopped in many local shops and indigenous shopping items. We have experienced SriLanka more than our itinerary. There were some technical factory tips additionally given by our tour guide. Choice of hotels and restaurants were do customized and to our likings. We travelled around SriLanka from Colombo to Kandy, Nuwaraeliya, Elle, Yala, Galle, and Bentota. Mr. Madhusankar took us to all significant places and made us experience unique Srilankan experience from stay, food, travel and comfort. Overall we got a unforgettable memories and a friend Mr. Madhusankar in our entire trip.

Hotels Feedback : 1)Mirrisa Regent was a Oyo room ,it was not a proper 3* property, First of all they didn't have our booking information, Welcome drink was not server, No power most of the time and they didn't have power backup also.In-fact a water bottle was provided even after asking. breakfast was horrible ( 2 slice of bread and butter with 1 banana and 1 yogurt) Complete Money waste and spoiler of the trip, Please don't book this hotel for any guest and try to refund the money for the same to US. 2)Welcome drink was not provided at Ceylon city hotel also. Other Hotels were good specially 'Ella flower garden resort'(Best Hotel in the whole trip) Car Service : Superb Driver : He(Nisam) is not good enough because of him we ended up paying more money every where(initial 2-3 days). He took us to the places where he has tie up with people over there, We realized it on the third day when we confirmed the price of Tuk-tuk with other people and we got to know that we payed 3 times the amount of what other people paid over there and his reaction for the voice we raised was very bad.He stopped the car in middle and said call the 'Direct Link' people and get another driver. Second driver : Izme : he was good and decent. Travel Triangle : Initially when we were esquiring that time the response was good enough but after we paid the first installment then the response has been changed. We need to do multiple follow-up to get the information. Final itinerary also we got the last moment after multiple follow-ups. No suggestion provided by travel agent about the places to visit and stay such as he could have guided us to stay and spend more time in Bentota instead of Galle. Infact Visa information was provided after asking. The complete itinerary was planned by us. Over all experience was average with Travel Triangle.

Apoorva's 7 days trip to Sri Lanka

This was my second trip with Travel Triangle. We booked honeymoon to Sri Lanka and wanted to stay in 4* hotels. Fresco Water Villa in Sigiriya, Fairway Sunset in Galle, Hotel Mermaid in Bentota, Cinnamon Citadel in Kandy and Ceylon City Hotel in Colombo. All hotels were good apart from Ceylon City Hotel which apparently had 3.9 star rating but rooms were extremely small and washroom even more. I would not give credit for the hotels to my coordinator as the initial suggestion for hotels were very generic and did not had great reviews. I had to do my research to find the best hotels in each area. Travel Triangle and my coordinator were open to N number of customization which helped. As far as itinerary is concerned, it was very basic and did not had any special plans and services for honeymoon couples. I had clearly made a point in the beginning of the quotation that we would like this vacation to be relaxed however itinerary was very exhaustive. We were traveling and in cab most of the time and could not enjoy services of any hotels (Pool, Spa and many other). Also, there were complimentary (Room Decoration and Cake) that we were supposed to get in Cinnamon Citadel but we didn't get both. That was one thing that we really didn't want hotel and coordinator to miss but it was missed. Everything else was executed smooth. So my recommendation to all the future travelers would be to do your bit of research and do not go by the itinerary you get. Travel Triangle is happy to customize and would consider the changes but only if you ask for else you might regret later on missing the main tourist attractions. Coming to the cab and driver Ismath, I think this was best out of everything. Just like all other testimonial that I read, I had no challenges with the driver. He was well informed and aware of the places to visit and places to eat. Overall a good trip.
