Joshimath is famous for its Joshimath-Auli Ropeway which is one of the highest cable car carriers in the world. This 4 km ropeway connects Auli and Joshimath and provides one of the most spectacular views of the snow-clad mountains and serene blue sky that will make you fall in love with this place. Joshimath is the gateway to Badrinath hence it is convenient for tourists to add Joshimath Auli to their travel.

Bheem Pul

Situated around 3 km from Badrinath Temple, Bheem Pul must be visited and experienced by all tourists visiting Badrinath Temple. As per mythology, the pul was created by Bheema, the second of the Pandavas for his wife Draupadi to cross the river. One can enjoy the view of the majestic Saraswati River gushing and traveling 100 meters before mysteriously submerging underground to meet rivers Yamuna and Ganga in Allahabad.

Best Time to Visit

Though pilgrims come visiting Char Dham all throughout the year, many don’t know that the temples remain closed as there are particular days and months when the temples are open. Char Dham is open between April to October / November, starting from Akha Teej in May and closes on Bhai Duj. The best time to visit is early July, September, and October since May and June gets very crowded and late July and August get heavy rainfall due to which many routes are blocked.

All this affects the transportation services in the region. During the offseason, Char Dham does not have enough buses and shared taxis which makes the trip a little difficult and full of hassles.

Summer

Since the shrines are all located at a high altitude, the summer time here is great with cool winds blowing and everything seems beautiful but the nights can still get very cold hence one must not forget to pack warm clothes to keep yourselves protected.

Pre-Winter

After the monsoon, the valley gets all pretty with flowers and greenery all around. Everywhere you look, you will be awestruck with the stunning views of the valley. The end of monsoon enhances the beauty of the entire place hence September makes for a perfect time to avail this Char Dham family trip.

How to Reach

By Air

There are various ways through which people can do this Dham. Take a flight to Dehradun which is well connected from Delhi’s domestic airport. With the difficulty level of the Char Dham, there are multiple helicopter services that are also provided to the tourists which makes this difficult and long journey an easy one for them as all the four shrines can be seen in two days.

By Road

Your family trip to Char Dham can be also done either by traveling in the many public or private buses, cabs, or taxis that run at regular intervals and in huge numbers. There are many buses that leave at regular intervals that will take you to the first stop of your trip.

By Rail

The nearest railway station is in Dehradun and after reaching here you can use other modes of transportation to carry on your journey.
