History of Topkapi Palace

It is called Topkapi Sarayi Muzesi, in Turkish and located in Istanbul. The museum is housed and located in a palace complex that used to serve as the main administrative headquarters and as the residence of the imperial Ottoman court from 1478 to 1856, so expect a royal feast of extensive luxury viewing when you get here! It re-opened as a museum in 1924, a year after the establishment and re-decoration of the Republic of Turkey. This museum is not just notable for its architecture and collections but also for the culture and history of the Ottoman Empire that it gets us reminiscing about.
