In 1866, a group of 35 artists founded the Chicago Academy of Design. In 2015, the Art Institute of Chicago museum witnessed the greatest donation ever made in art history. Two eminent collectors’ donation is a collection of world’s greatest post-war pop art ever assembled, with work of artists like Richard Prince, Cindy Sherman, Roy Lichtenstein and many more named.

Among the greatest Art Institute of Chicago, exhibits are Pablo Picasso’s The Old Guitarist, Grant Wood’s American Gothic and Georges Seurat's A Sunday on La Grande Jatte.
