Queen Victoria Market is the main marketplace in Melbourne. From organic products and groceries to clothes, jewellery and other souvenir items, this place has it all. For one month each in winter and summer, there is a night market here which has the most eclectic blend of gourmet food you have ever seen.

4. The Docklands

The seaside promenade area has cruise boats leaving the harbour in the water. But one the land, it is lined up with numerous restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment places. The Docklands is the perfect place to spend an evening to know about Melbourne.

5. Yarra River and Cruising

Yarra River is the lifeline of Melbourne. It is around this river that the Aboriginals had built their civilization. There are many cruises which can be enjoyed on this historic river. The usual public one during the daytime is cheap and follows one route only. Private cruises at night can be rented for a more lavish experience.
