How to Reach Chail Palace in Shimla

Chail is located at an altitude of 2,250 metres. It lies at a distance of 45 km from Shimla. The hill station is easily accessible by road via Kalka–Shimla route. The nearest major airport is situated 115 km away in Chandigarh since airport in Shimla has limited flights available. A rental cab takes about 4-5 hours to reach Chail from Chandigarh.

Taking a train is also a convenient medium for those wondering how to reach Chail Palace. Take the picturesque ride on the Kalka–Shimla Railway from Kalka or Shimla and deboard at Kandaghat which is 25 km away from Chail. Travellers can hire taxis to reach the palace.
