About Balmuri Falls in Mysore

Located a few minutes’ drive from the city of Mysore, Balmuri Falls is an ideal spot for a picnic with family or friends. Its name 'Balmuri' translates to 'to curve right' in the local language. It is because of the river bends to the right at this spot in Srirangapatna. The check-dam over the falls runs across for about 100 meters, the width of the Cauvery River, and forms a beautiful sheet of water only 6 feet high. Visitors can enjoy a walk on the dam due to the steady flow of ankle-deep water. Another way to enjoy the waterfalls is to take a relaxing dip in the water.

Balmuri Falls offers a beautiful view of the river which runs through greenery and is located away from the hubbub of city life. People living in cities like Mysore or Bangalore love to visit this place for a great one-day picnic. Balmuri Falls is one of the best day trips from Bangalore. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful view and also cool off by taking a dip in the water.

Balmuri and Edmuri Waterfalls are located nearby. Usually less crowded than Balmuri, Edmuri Falls are just 1 kilometer downstream of the river. The best time to visit Balmuri Falls is from March to August during the hot weather. The water level is safe for taking a dip during this time so visitors should be able to escape the heat. In summer months, the locals also offer fun boat rides which are really rewarding.

Colonel Bailey’s Dungeon, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, Daria Daulat Bagh, and Brindavan Gardens are other interesting attractions to visit nearby in Srirangapatna.

The Akshay palace is not even a 2 star hotel The washrooms was unclean The bed smelled of urine Breakfast / lunch area was also unclean. On top of it a very small room for 4 people. website wont allow me to rate low, it wont allow me to submit rating unless i give good rating.(I have a video proof to prove about this rating scam) Terrible experience with dream yatra agency from Travel Triangle, after completion of my trip on march 11, I got calls from some transport team on 15th March saying the agency didnot pay the balance amount to them, even though everything was paid to agency before trip itself. transport team called me frequently saying agency is not responding to them. when i tried to contact Rakesh from Dream yatra I could not connect via call to his number, later when I finally got touch with him on whatsapp and told him the transport is calling me frequently, he was so rude, told me to inform the transport team myself that payment will be released on monday which is his duty. He later told me directly not to call him again for this matter even though transport team is calling me frequently for update. Is that a customer duty to take care of bills to third party even after paying everything to agency?? such a unprofessional agency it is. and this portal wont let me submit the review unless i give good star rating to agency what kind of a stupid service is this.
