About Mysore Palace in Mysore

Located in the heart of the city, the majestic Mysore Palace in Mysore, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, stands tall to take the hearts of its visitors right away.

Built-in the Indo-Saracenic style with blends of Hindu, Mughal, Rajput, and Gothic styles, this three-storeyed stone structure surrounded by beautiful lush gardens, provides a structure like never witnessed before. Mysore Palace in Mysore is one of the sought after palaces in India. 

History of Mysore Palace

The history of Mysore Palace dates back to almost 600 years when it was built as the royal residence for the then ruling Wadiyar family of Mysore. The palace had been built and rebuilt several times between 1350 to 1950. The superstructure and the interior of Mysore Palace in Mysore clearly depict the way how luxurious the royal family used to live their daily lives.

Architecture of Mysore Palace

The Amba Vilas Palace in Mysore architecture consists of a three-storeyed stone structure built of fine grey granite with deep pink marble domes along with a number of arches. The main complex is 245 feet long and 156 ft wide. The main entrance gate and the arch hold the emblem around written in Sanskrit. The palace also has 2 Durbar halls and also assimilates a number of courtyards, gardens, and beautiful buildings. 

Mysore Palace Light and Sound Show

The Royal Palace of Mysore also hosts an alluring Light and Sound show daily except for Sunday and public holidays. The show is organized every day between 7:00 p.m to 7:30 p.m.

Mysore Palace Dussehra Celebrations

Dussehra festival is celebrated with much enthusiasm at Mysore Palace in Mysore. The festival is celebrated for around 10 days and people across the country come here to participate in this occasion. The entire palace is decorated with lightings and other decorative items.

We have recently booked and traveled to mysuru, coorg and wayanad through All india holidays. The hotel at mysuru and homestay at coorg were very good but the hotel at Wayanad was average. The cab and driver were okay and sightseeing was well planned. Overall good service by all india holidays and travel triangle

Had a great time at Mangalore. As usual Travel Triangle at its best. This is my 6th trip with Travel Triangle. Beginning till the End Travel Triangle was supportive., The trip was organised by M&M Cabs and Mr. Mahesh had co-ordinated really well with us for the trip.
