How To Reach Halcyon Castle In Kovalam

Are you wondering how to reach Halcyon castle, which is a tourist destination in the little town of Kovalam in Kerala. Originally built as a summer home by an influential family, it was eventually converted into a luxury hotel by the Kerala government and then sold to private groups but Halcyon Castle is still a sight to visit for most people visiting Kovalam. Also known as the Kovalam Palace, it is a monument to the mixing of two architectural styles, namely the more traditional Kerala way of building houses and colonial inspired architecture.     Faced an issue with agent while arranging driver for my trip, without getting confirmation from driver,agent gave driver details to me. When I reached kochi and called driver,he said no bookings are there for him.we were shocked and asked agent about what happens, then she arranged driver and send.b
    ut she didn’t informed driver about toll fee and parking charges are included in package so driver asked us parking charges,so we had to pay double. Except this issue everything was smooth.

    Trip was fine. But hotel "the view munnar" was not good at all as the Lift was not working and 1st day there was no water supply in bathroom. Cab was good and the next hotel "pagoda " was very nice. Maximum things were not covered in the package. They say site seeing is covered but later the local
    ites asked to book a jeep for further sight seeing. The best part was the art show(Kathakali and kalaripattu) and alleppey boat ride , which was not covered in the package. We had to pay separately for that.
