How to Reach Kurisumala Ashram in Vagamon

Though tucked in the heart of the Sahya Mountains, Kurisumala Ashram is accessible from the nearby airport and railway station. From these places, one ultimately has to hire a taxi to reach the ashram which is easily available at both places. To be on the safer side, note down Kurisumala Ashram address before starting your tour so as to avoid any mishaps. Take a sneak peek into the details of different modes of transport that one can choose to reach the ashram.

By Air: The nearest airport to Kurisumala Ashram is located in Kochi in Kerala which is around 120 km away from the destination. There are regular buses and taxis operable to cover this distance. Both the taxis and buses drop tourists at the Vazhikkadavu Bus Stop which is just 1.5 kilometers away from the ashram. One can either hire a taxi again from here or opt for a 20-minute uphill walk to the ashram.

By Rail: Kurisumala Ashram is located around 60 kilometers away from the Kottayam railway station. From here, one can easily opt for a bus from the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus station which is located 2 km away from the railway station. There are two options from there - either one can get a bus to Vagamon or to Vazhikkadavu Bus Stop. One can hire a taxi or walk from the bus stop.

    The timings of cab availability should be mentioned before giving the quotation. The places to be visited should also be taken into consideration according to the client needs. We have faced issues related to cab driver timings and availability. That was a bad experience though. The person who have

    Munnar and Thekkady were great. But experience in Alleppey was not good. We book a luxury house boat but the service provided by them was very bad. The agents should not book services with such house boat companies. Everything from check in to check out in the houseboat was bad experience.
