History of Aurangabad

Aurangabad, a city that was formerly known as Khadki, means a place or village located on a rock. The beautiful town of rock was later renamed as Aurangabad in 1636 to celebrate the defeat of Malik Ambar. Later, Aurgazab built several monuments from the grand Moti Masjid (Pearl Mosque) to Bibi Ka Maqbara ("Tomb of the Lady").
