Bandra Worli Sea Link, also known as Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link, is one of the main attractions of Mumbai. It is one of the most frequented bridges in Mumbai. This bridge connects the suburbs of Mumbai to South Mumbai. The undertaking of this bridge was conducted by the Maharashtra Government. It is a cable-stayed bridge with pre-stressed concrete-steel. History of Bandra Worli Sea Link
Initially, Mahim Causeway was the only connect between the suburbs and South Mumbai. Thus, the Maharashtra Government felt the need to introduce a sea link and so proposed the plan for this bridge. Bandra Worli Sea Link history dates back to the year 2000 when its construction commenced. It took a decade to complete the construction and was finally ready by the year 2010. In 1999, Bal Thackrey laid the foundation stone of this bridge. The cost incurred in the making of this bridge is INR 16 billion and the proposed cost was INR 6.6 billion. Bandra Worli Sea Link construction faced a delay of 5 years and therefore caused a hike in the cost.

Bandra Fort: Just as the name suggests, the fort is located in Bandra and is thereby near Bandra Worli Sea Link bridge. Bandra Fort is also known as Castella de Aguada. It is located at a distance of 5 km from the sea link.
Shri Siddhivinayak Temple: Shri Siddhivinayak Temple is the most visited temple of Mumbai. This Hindu temple is devoted to Lord Ganesha. The temple is situated at a distance of 7 km from the sea link bridge.
Worli Fort: Worli Fort is situated at a distance of just 6.8 km from the sea link bridge. The fort was constructed by the British in 1675 and is one of the most intriguing places to visit in Mumbai.
