Pulau Payar is a lush green island that is situated near Langkawi.

Pulau Payar Marine Park is Malaysia's one of the best marine parks. It is uninhabited and is well preserved. It extends over a number of beautiful islands and Pulau Payar is the largest of them all. This marine park has been declared a fisheries protected area and one can find abundant marine life here. You can find some of the most beautiful and colorful coral reefs and coralife similar to that of the Indian Ocean here, these coral reefs are protected and preserved. This place provides you with amazing diving and snorkeling opportunities. These reefs are important as they prevent sea erosion by acting as barriers. You can spot a variety of Marine animals at Pulau Payar Marine Park like clownfish, horse eyed jacks, black-tipped reef sharks. Indulge in amazing water activities and explore marine life. There are four small beaches where you can swim or snorkel.

ACTIVITIES:

This place has a wooden walkway from where you can go to the beaches, the water here is not deep but shallow, you can swim or snorkel here. You can also feed the sharks from the wooden walkway, but feeding them from the beech is prohibited. You can also participate in the feeding session that takes place at noon.

OFFSHORE SNORKELING:

A boat will take you to the reef area where you can snorkel and admire the beauty of the Marine life. There are many areas in Pulau Payar Marine Park where you can witness this amazing coral life. One such spot is near the eastern coastline of the Pulau Payar which is known as the House Reef and is a great offshore snorkeling area. You will also see some amazing fish like the clownfish, moray eels, butterflyfish, lionfish, wrasse, rabbitfish, parrotfish. It would be an experience worth remembering for a lifetime.
