Veligandu Island occupies a mere 22 acres in the entire Maldivian archipelago, but this 600-meters long and 150-meters wide island is a scenic delight. The whole island is operated as a resort and visitors are welcomed by a scenic flight that sets the pace for a holiday here.
Tourism on Veligandu Island
With the entire island being a resort, it is open to only adults (18+ years) and makes the perfect getaway. The resort is large enough for one to find their private space, yet small enough to feel still very much part of the Maldivian world. Idyllic settings set the mood for romance, with elegant villas situated above the lagoon, tastefully furnished to make one feel at peace with the world with the turquoise ocean stretching out into the distance.
Activities to Do at Veligandu Island
The island’s lagoon is the ideal spot for water sports including kayaking and windsurfing. Snorkeling, badminton, football and jet skiing are also popular here. To get a good glimpse of what lies beneath, one can opt for a round of diving, which is usually aided by the local dive center and is often conducted in groups. The house reef here is ideal for snorkeling and freshwater swimming pools are a boon for those who would just like to lays out and soak in some goodness.
