Ravi's 5 days trip to Kerala

No proper planning. Wasted lot of time in journey only without spending time in resort. In 5 days , we enjoyed 2 days only. Wasted for 3 days. We contacted travel agent to cover the places in a well time manner and this is what missed. Agent was in touch until they got their package amount and driver is friendly but he doesn't informed about proper time to cover the places.just start and stop the car wherever we want. He has to suggest the timing about when to start from resort , how much time to spend the places, which places we can cover in a day so that we cannot lose our time and experience. Agent suggested to stay in kondai lip resort in aleppy but we reached there at 7.30 pm and check out at 11 am next day. What is the use of going there bcoz of improper plan. Instead of travel agent if I go on my own I can experience a lot even it is first time for me

We had a nice trip and time in kerala. Driver was so friendly, he picked us on time from airport and he was on time everyday for our daily pickup. I would say we could enjoy the trip so well because he was driving so safely in our entire Journey. As part of our package Breakfast was really good in all hotels. Just would like to mention couple of points. 1. Booked a trip for 2 adults, 1 kid. Room and Bed (queen type) were so small in Munnar. It was so difficult to adjust, Hotels/Room type would be booked based on no of people. 2. Mountain Hues hotel was good, but not sure why the hotel was booked so far away from Thekkady... It takes 30 mins to reach Thekkady from hotel. Initially Periyar hotel was mentioned in Quote... May be because of delay in booking I was in no choice to agree to a hotel which is so far from main city. We faced lot of issues to find a good restaurant for dinner.

A little disappointing and could have been a lot better. Not a very happy start to the trip. We had specifically asked for a Driver who knew Hindi, English or Tamil. Communication with Driver was not possible even though we knew English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Kannada. The Driver only knew Malayalam. However the driver knew only Malayalam. Driver was insensitive (made us walk hungry and tired for 1 KM at 4.30 PM without having lunch) on certain occasions for his own convenience . Please read driver rating comments for details. Resort in Munnar and hotel in Thekkady were good. We were wrongly advised by the agent on the resort in Alleppey. We were told it is a 4-star equivalent when it was clearly mentioned as 3-star. When we questioned it, we were told to be rest-assured it was like a 4-star. But it was at best a 3-star one and very far from Alleppey which ate away precious time in un-necessary travelling. All of this after the specific travels were charging us a premium over others. We went with them as the agent was assuring as that they would provide the best of service and make it a memorable trip. The agent assigned while on the trip was very good and helped us how much ever he could. But the damage was already done. The driver had a very strict time when it suited him. Even though the agent had included a show between 6-7PM in the itinerary and once done we had dinned and reached the hotel at around 8.15PM, the driver said because it was late, the next day he would only come at 9AM whereas we requested him to come at 8AM as we had a long travel from Thekkady and Alleppey and most tourist things in these place close by 5PM or 6PM. Also on the first day he dropped us at 4PM and just left. We were forced to have Dinner in the property we stayed. We were never told about this earlier.

The hotel at the munnar was a 3-star hotel without AC, the location was excellent and service was good but overall quality of hotel is not to the standard, requested a 4-star, i did bring it up when i checked that hotel was 3-star but was told that its a 4-star. Alleppey boathouse was decent, service was excellent but boathouse quality was ok and there were lots of lizards and coming out in the evening after 7 pm was a challenge as there were many lizards, the boathouse person did help in moving them off but there were many lizards. Only one hotel was excellent - mountain view courtyard, the quality, service and overall

All went fine. Hotels were good, driver was awesome and hospitality was amazing. Only issue was with houseboat. We were expecting at least a little bigger one but tht was too small for us.. Somehow we 4 managed to sleep. Though people on the oat and food was very good. You could have saved money at thekady resort where we just stayed to sleep and invested more on getting good houseboat. Overall it was good.

Travel Agent - service wise fine, but we had last minute modification in persons due to some emergency, but I feel they have taken last minute advantage and charged more amount for my trip. Almost half persons droped to trip, but they just reduced very lesser amount and that make my trip very costlier. Hotels - house boat is not as expected, can provide a better one
