Hill Fort Kesroli is one of the primary attractions in the city of Alwar in Rajasthan.

The structure is essentially a fort pertaining to the 14th century. The place is now a heritage hotel property that is under the ownership of the Neemrana Hotels group. The place has a rich history has to it which was dwindling with time and lack of any attention or care. The project of its renovation was taken up by the said hotel chain. The place got revived in its utmost glory and the architectural crevices of it again took a breath in today’s world. After its revival and becoming a luxury property, the place got to be popularly known as the Neemrana Hill Fort Kesroli. The results of the makeover were stunning and grand enough to give the place the status of being one of the best heritage hotel properties in India.

The Hill Fort Kesroli History

The Yaduvanshi Rajputs were the group who built this fort. These people converted to Islam during the mid-14th century. This is when they got the name of Khanzadas. The structure of the fort has undergone a plethora of changes during the many centuries from when it was initially built in the 14th century. Many came and conquered the place, hence the changes in the structure and designs. The Mughals ruled when they conquered the place and the Jat community later got a hold of it. Later, Hill Fort Kesroli Alwar came under the rule of the Rajput clan in the year 1775. This is the time around when the princely state of Alwar came into being. Many came and ruled, but during the reign of Ranawat Thakur Bhawani Singh (1882–1934), the fort saw great times which is denoted by many as the golden period of the Hill Fort of Kesroli.

Neemrana Kesroli Hill Fort Architecture

The fort is known for its amazing architectural features and designs that are resplendent in the forms of turrets, ramparts, and arched verandahs. There are seven turrets in the fort and the design and structure of them and the remaining fort have undergone many changes under the different rules and kingdoms. In the year 2004, the fort was leased to Neemrana Hotels group owned by Aman Nath and Francis Wacziarg. The duo renovated the place and gave it a facelift. The fort now is a heritage hotel property with a luxurious and quintessential ambiance.
