About Pandupol in Alwar
One of the famous tourist spots in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, Pandupol is located in the Sariska Tiger Reserve. Apart from being an integral part of the Reserve, Pandupol is also popular for its mythical secrets attached to it. It is believed to be the historic site where Bhima, the mightiest of the Pandavas in the epic Mahabharata triumphed over the Hindu demon Hidimbb. This is the place that holds a significant place in the history of India.
Pandupol has a few charming tourists attractions such as a cascading spring which has emerged from the hard rocks around. According to the Hindu mythology, Pandupol in Alwar was the refuge for the exiled Pandava brothers. Pandupol is also famous for its gorgeous 35-ft waterfall which you can reach easily by taking the main path. On reaching the waterfall, you will also find a temple which is otherwise known as Pandupol Hanuman Mandir. One of the peculiarities of the Temple is that the idol of Hanuman kept here is in a reclining position. Although it is a small temple in size, it is highly revered among the people of this place. Around the temple, you will also find an abundance of peafowl, langurs,spurfowl, and common species of tree pies.
There are a few other attractions located close to Pandupol. On your way to Pandupol, halt at the Karankawas Lake, Brahmanath, Kalighat Chauki and Bhaironghati for an enhanced sightseeing experience.
