About Nakki Lake In Mount Abu
Nakki Lake is an ancient and sacred man-made lake in the city of Mount Abu. It is the only lake in Mount Abu and has several legends and stories attached to how it came to be. One of the legends says that the lake was dug by Gods, looking for protection against a Demon, whereas one says that it was dug by a suitor of the Princess of Mount Abu to impress her.
Whatever be its origin, one of the most important facts of the Nakki Lake history includes being a sacred lake for the Garacia tribe of Rajasthan. It is a holy place of worship for them, where they pray to their ancestors.
The Nakki Lake Mount Abu timings are from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, on all days of the week. The boating timings for the lake are also the same. The boat rides might cost you anywhere from INR 50/- to INR 100/- per person, for a 30-minute ride.
Although Mount Abu enjoys a salubrious climate almost all throughout the year, visiting Nakki Lake in winter is the best option for enjoying the mist that settles over the clear blue waters. When planning a tour of Rajasthan, make sure that you also spare some time to visit Nakki Lake in Mount Abu.
The Nakki Lake in winter doesn't actually freeze over, however, its surface is covered in frost in the depth of winter in Mount Abu. In the summer season, the lake's water level drops a bit before coming back to its original level in the monsoon season.
