Built around 163-1967, this amazing structure is made up of cement, and has an observation deck which makes it even a more interesting place to visit. As one visit this approximately 540 meters tall and the world’s 11th tallest structure, Ostankino Tower, Moscow, it lets them cherish panoramas of the region which are completely beguiling. However, the tower allows only a limited number of visitors at a single time so as to avoid any accidents.
History of Ostankino Tower
Designed by Nikolai Nikitin, Ostankino Tower was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. As per the history of Ostankino Tower, construction of the structure began in 1963, and it took around 5 years to complete it. Erected in 1967 as a masterpiece of its time, it also held the record of being the world’s tallest structure for 9 years. And, thus became one of the major attractions in the city, which is not famous for skyscrapers. However, on 27th August, 2000, the tower caught fire, and post that it met many accidents.

Ostankino Tower became the tallest structure in the world, and remained one for 9 years until Toronto’s CN Tower surpassed its height.
The tower is part of the International Federation of Great Towers.
The tower now owns 20 transmitters each of radio and television.
The total weight of the tower is around 51,400 tons.

Again, as a part of the floor is made of shock-resistant glass, it makes people feel as if they are floating in the air. Another major attraction is ‘The Seventh Sky’ restaurant built on its seventh level. With its rotating platform, this restaurant offers an amazing view of the city while visitors have their sumptuous meal.
