Adventurous Places in Gangtok

Our conversations about Gangtok are incomplete without talking about the adventurous places in the city for which this place is known. Some of the adventurous places are - 

Sandakphu - Sandakphu is famous for the Himalayan Trek, it is famous for being the most thrilling and mysterious trek in the region. Once the trekkers reach the peak, they can take a glimpse of the highest peaks in the world including Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and Everest.  

Lha-ri-nying Phu - This place is famous for caving as it is believed to be the holiest caves of all in the region. Visitors can observe the insides of the Himalayan cave. This cave is located to the north of Tashiding and is a three day journey from there. 

Teesta - When you think about river rafting in Gangtok, it has to be in Teesta river. It enables the thrill junkies to face the majestic waves and dominate them. River rafting starts from this place and goes on till Rangpo. 

Tsomgo Lake - Tsongmo Lake is famous for the Yak safari. Although the Yak safari is slow, it allows visitors to explore the nearby places. The safari starts from Gangtok to end at the Tsomgo Lake.
