About Gardens by the Bay in Sentosa Island
As a part of Singapore’s sustainability project of becoming a City in a Garden rather than just a Garden City by enhancing the flora, Gardens by the Bay was announced in 2005. It went on to become one of the most premium tourist attractions of urban Singapore and a national landmark. The patch of refreshing green in the bay-front area spans for over 250 acres and consists of three sections of gardens – South, East and Central. The colossal size of the garden can be observed from the SkyPark of Marina Bay Sands, which is open for the public.
The best Gardens by the Bay tourist attraction, The Supertree Grove is the ultimate place to visit here. They are 12 towering metal plants, the exteriors of which are covered with more than 200 different plant and flower species. Three of these trees are connected with a walkway with a great view of the whole garden. In this attraction, you can also experience the famous Gardens by the Bay light show that happens twice every evening.
The smaller shell-shaped buildings are the Gardens by the Bay Cloud Forest, which are customised mountain-climate green houses with a 35-metre faux-climb inside with orchids and other hilly plants. Gardens by the Bay Flower Dome on the other hand recreate Mediterranean and other temperate climates, and have specimens like Baobabs from Africa, Olives from South Europe and Kangaroo Paw from Down-Under.
The rest of the garden has many other attractions scattered all around. For a scenic view of the city of Singapore, visit the Bay East Garden. Take in the Singapore skyline in all of its majestic glory. There are many restaurants and cafes here and there to cater to your refreshment needs.
