Helix Bridge, Sentosa (Singapore)

The Helix Bridge Singapore is a pedestrian bridge that links the Marina Centre with Marina South in the Marina Bay area in Singapore. The bridge goes by the official name ‘The Helix’ and was previously called as ‘Double Helix Bridge.’ Located just beside the Benjamin Sheares Bridge and accompanied by Bayfront Bridge, the Helix Bridge Singapore was opened on the 18th of July 2010 as a step to complete the entire walkway around the Marina Bay. Helix Bridge in Sentosa is a piece of phenomenal architecture and a work of great minds.

Architecture of Helix Bridge: Being an appreciable piece of architecture, the Helix Bridge is a preferred choice among the pedestrians to explore the Marina Bay area. There are additions in the design that allow the pedestrians to watch the platforms and also enjoy and photograph their views from the bridge. The nightscape of this beautifully-lit walkway is a site worth being visited. Modeled based on the double-helical DNA structure, the Helix was the first curved bridge of the world and even today happens to be the longest pedestrian bridge in the whole of Singapore. This 280-meter long bridge offers the visitors with a gorgeous visual experience that enhances and beautifies the surrounding areas of the bridge as well with its volume, unique beauty and incredible nature. The Helix Bridge has got applications for both practical as well as aesthetic purposes. The stunning bridge is around three storeys tall with 2250 meter-long steel tubes used for construction.
