About Kaza in Spiti

Situated along the Spiti River, Kaza is the sub-divisional headquarters of Spiti Valley. Divided into two parts-Kaza Khas and Kaza Soma, the town of Kaza is the largest town and commercial centre in the entire valley.

Surrounded by brunette mountain ridges on all sides, the town of Kaza is home to the administrative buildings of the Valley. The enchanting terrain and distinct blend of Tibetan and Indian culture act as magnets for drawing tourists to the destination. Owing to its centrality in the valley and proximity to nearby attractions, it is a tourist hotspot during the summer months of the year.

Housing the largest edifice of Tibetan culture in the region, Kaza’s culture showcases a heavy influence of Buddhism and Tibetan traditions. Apart from its culture and traditions which are quite evident in its everyday life, Kaza is much renowned for its exquisite tourist attractions and adventure sports. The enticing valley of Kaza is host to various sports like, Trekking, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Paragliding and various others, which one cannot afford to miss out. Apart from sports, Kaza offers several places that one should never leave out when on a trip to Spiti Valley.
