How To Reach Coral Island in Pattaya

The public ferry is the cheapest way across and runs every day, all year. Tickets are about 30 THB one way, paid in cash at the pier, and the crossing to Na Baan Pier takes around 45 minutes. Departures from Bali Hai Pier run through the day, with typical sailings at 07:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:30, 17:00 and 18:30.

Coming back matters more than going out. Return ferries leave Na Baan from early morning until about 18:00, so treat 18:00 as your last boat and be at the pier well before it. Miss the last ferry and the only way off the island is a private speedboat at several times the price. Times shift a little by season and weather, so confirm the last return with the ticket counter when you land.

Speedboat vs public ferry: which to choose

Take the public ferry if you want the cheapest crossing and are not in a rush. It is 30 THB and about 45 minutes each way, and it lands you at Na Baan, a short songthaew ride from Tawaen, the island's busiest beach.

Choose a speedboat if you want to save time or head straight to a quieter shore. A shared speedboat runs about 300 to 400 THB per person and a private charter about 1,500 to 2,500 THB for the whole boat, both making the crossing in 15 to 20 minutes. Speedboats can drop you at the smaller beaches like Tien and Nual that the ferry does not serve, which is why families and groups on a day trip usually pick one.

How to reach Bali Hai Pier (South Pattaya)

Every boat to Coral Island leaves from Bali Hai Pier at the southern end of Walking Street in South Pattaya. From Central Pattaya a songthaew (the blue shared truck) costs about 10 to 20 THB per person, while a Grab or metered taxi from most hotels runs about 60 to 150 THB depending on distance. On weekends and public holidays the ferry queue builds fast, so aim to reach the pier 20 to 30 minutes before you want to sail.

Getting to Coral Island from Bangkok

Coral Island works as a long day trip from Bangkok too. Bangkok to Pattaya is about 150 km, roughly 2 hours by car or bus. Buses run from Ekkamai and Mo Chit terminals to Pattaya for about 130 THB, and shared vans from the same stations are a little quicker. From the Pattaya bus terminal take a songthaew or taxi to Bali Hai Pier, then the ferry or speedboat across. Leave Bangkok by about 7 am and you get a full day on the island with time to catch the last boat back.
