The nearest airport in Pattaya is the U-Tapao Airport, which is located 30 km away at Sattahip, having limited connectivity to a few of destinations. But the most frequented airport for going to Pattaya is Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Most Indian flights, like Delhi to Pattaya or Mumbai to Pattaya make a stop at Bangkok, while some others halt at Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. The fastest flight takes around 11 hours 30 minutes total, done by the Thai Airways. Pattaya being only 150 km away from Bangkok, most people like to break the journey, and take another flight or minivan from outside the airport to Pattaya.
By Road
Going from India to Pattaya via road is not a very convenient journey, but also not an impossible one. The India-Myanmar-Thailand Highway road has made it possible for anyone to drive down to Bangkok from Manipur. From there one can take one of the many options to go cover the distance between Bangkok and Pattaya. There are the pre-booked mini buses that cost around 200-250 TBH or the cabs that take some 700-800 TBH. There are Bangkok airport to Pattaya bus services available from Transfer Centre of Suvarnabhumi Airport every 1.5 hours. If one is not going straight from the Bangkok airport but after a few days stay in the capital, they can easily take a luxury bus from Ekkamai Bus Terminal in eastern Bangkok. They depart every 30 minutes throughout the day. Buses ply from other locations as well, like Sukhumvit Road, Mo Chit Northern Terminal and Sai Tai Mai Southern Terminal.
