1. Lakhamandal Temple
This place holds a lot of religious importance and is situated 100 km from Chakrata. It is believed that it is here where Duryodhana tried to kill his Pandava brothers in LakshaGrah in Mahabharat. Many people come to visit this place.
2. Kalsi - Ashokan Rock Edict
This place is located between Dehradun and Chakrata and dates back to the era of the Mauryan empire. This is the one and only Asokaās rock edict in the whole of north India hence it holds a lot of importance. Built-in 450 AD with quartz stone, visiting this beauty is one thing that you must add in your Chakrata holiday packages.
3. Tiger Falls
Very famous among trekkers and backpackers, Tiger Falls must be added to your itinerary. People come to visit this place and rejuvenate themselves by swimming in a pond which is created below a 50 m waterfall.
4. Kanasar
Picnic on your mind? Pack that basket and drive down for 27 km and you would reach this pretty location called Kansar. Spending time in Kansar is like going for a spa as it will soothe your mind, body, and soul. There are dense trees and Deodar trees surrounding this area with a few rest houses. One of the most interesting facts about Kansar is that it is home to one of the oldest and biggest Deodar trees in Asia.
5. Budher Caves
These limestone caves of Chakrata are known to be actually made by Pandavas. They are 150 m long and most of them still remain unexplored. Budher Caves are also famously known as Miola Caves as they were discovered by a German explorer called Miola. Located at a height of 2590 meters, you get a beautiful view of Himalayan ranges running in kilometers.
6. Ram Talk Horticulture Garden
Another amazing place to visit is Ram Tal Horticultural Garden which is 12 km from the main Chakrata town. The garden consists of a garden, several varieties of plants and trees like Plum, Apple and Burans tree. Apart from this, this garden is also home to various species of birds that can be spotted nesting, singing all around. Some of the species are grey treepie, oriental turtle dove, black-headed jay, and more.

Summers here are balmy which makes it a perfect escape for anyone looking for relief from the scorching heat. It is advised that you carry your light woolens as hills often play hide and seek with clouds as there often are occasional rains. Even though chances of roads getting blocked during the monsoons are high for a couple of hours because of landslides, one must not miss visiting Chakrata during this season.
