Chitai Golu Devta Temple is a famous temple located in the Almora district of Uttarakhand. The temple is located at a distance of 9 km from the main city of Almora. Chitai Golu Devta Temple in Almora is dedicated to Gollu, an avatar of Lord Shiva which has taken the form of Gaur Bhairav. While there are so many temples of Golu Devta, the Chitai Golu Devta remains one of its kind. It is also because people believe that whatever wish you make here comes true. It is also the most scared Devta temple in Almora.
Lord Golu is worshipped in the Temple. He is considered to be the God of Justice. In a pursuit to get justice for themselves, people flock here in large numbers every year. They submit their wishes secretly on pieces of papers in the temple. Once the wishes are fulfilled, people come here to express their gratitude for the same. People tie tiny bells around the premises of the temple once their wishes are fulfilled.
