The Bhimtal lake is situated just 1 hour away from the town of Nainital. All the tourists generally have Bhimtal lake boating as one of the must-dos during their visit to the town of Nainital. The lake is situated at a distance of 22 kilometers from the town of Nainital and can be visited via booking private cabs or shared taxis. The beauty of the Bhimtal lake can be devoured by the tourists by taking a boat ride across the lake.
The boating service at Bhimtal is open for the tourists every day. The boating at Bhimtal timings are from 9 am in the morning to 6 pm in the evening. The boats have a capacity of four and take the tourists on a ride across the lake. The boating at Bhimtal Nainital entry fee is 150 rupees per person. Boating at Bhimtal lake is generally visited by almost all the tourists and owing to this thick volume of tourist's feet fall, the Government has well maintained the lake for the growth of tourism industry. The complete tour around the Bhimtal lake on a boat is completed in a time of about 30 minutes.
There is also an island at the center of the Bhimtal lake which is an aquarium. The island, which earlier used to be a restaurant has been now converted into an aquarium which can be visited by the tourists. The boat trip to this island is charged at 100 rupees per person for both ways of the trip. The aquarium has separate entry charges and can be paid separately. The adults have to pay an amount of 60 rupees whereas the ticket for children costs 30 rupees per child. Visiting the aquarium takes about 20 to 30 minutes. It is really a charm to enjoy the views surrounding the island on which the aquarium is situated. The aquarium visit is one of the specialties of boating at Bhimtal Lake.
The tourists can also enjoy the beauty of the destination by availing the accommodation options nearby. There are a number of hotels that provide accommodation facilities for the tourists even though the tourists generally prefer to come on a half day visit to Bhimtal lake which is especially for boating at Bhimtal lake only. The water in the Bhimtal lake is present up to a depth of 18 meters and the lake is about 1701 meters long. The lake, situated in the lap of magnificent mountains, is a must visit place for all the tourists.
