Tourist Places In Sydney

This major city of Australia is enriched with everything that one can expect from a vacation. Sydney attractions include beaches, museums, iconic landmarks, extensive shopping and nightlife options and a great waterfront scene.

Beaches in Sydney

Sydney is home to many beautiful beaches. From calm seashores perfect for snorkelling to raging waves ideal for surfing – all sorts of beaches are accessible from Sydney. Bond Beach is the best holiday destination in Sydney among beaches. The place is like a carnival studded with restaurants, cafes and beachfront bars. Bronte Beach is Bondi’s sister, with big waves for surfers, a rock pool for swimmers and a large green area for picnickers. Balmoral beach is along the scenic north shore of Sydney, visited for kayaking and paddleboarding in the calm waters. Watson Bay along the southern entrance to Sydney Harbour comes with enclosed baths and a brilliant view of the harbour front.

Wildlife in Sydney

Sydney is known for having one of the best collections of in-city wildlife places. Featherdale Wildlife Park is a partially free range zoo, where one can pet and feed the animals roaming around. This is a perfect place on the Sydney sightseeing tours for catching up with some kangaroos. The Centennial Park has a brilliant after-hours tour of the nocturnal animals under the spotlights. Taronga Zoo, on the shores of Sydney Harbour, protects and preserves more than 4000 animals, many of which are endangered or threatened. Sydney has two lovely marine zoos as well. The Manly Aquarium has a cute penguin display and an underwater tunnel to see sharks and turtles. Sea Life Sydney Aquarium is for even bigger marine displays – one can find like octopus and squids at large.

Here are the best Sydney places to visit for a tourist.

1. Sydney Opera House

Sydney Opera House and its iconic sails are the landmark structure of Sydney. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and a place for the best live performances and Broadway show in Australia, Sydney Opera House is the best Sydney tourist attraction of all time.

2. Sydney Harbour Bridge

Sydney Harbour Bridge has always been the most fascinating Sydney point of interest, and even the construction of Opera House could not take that away. The magnificent structure, supported by double piers at both ends connects the north and south shores in a single curve rising 134 metres above the water. One can enjoy the view from the pedestrian walkways or take a ride in the BridgeClimb along the outer arch of the bridge for an adrenaline-fueled ride and a panoramic painting of the entire city.

3. Darling Harbour

Staying true to its name, this place is one of the most loved places for Sydney sightseeing. Popular among tourists, locals and expats alike, the Darling Harbour is home to Sydney’s Madame Tussaud’s, the Wildlife Sydney Zoo and the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, Australian Maritime Museum, a playground and carousel carnival and the Chinese Garden of Friendship.

4. The Sydney Tower Eye

The Sydney Tower Eye rising 309 metres above ground is one of the greatest Sydney destinations. From the busy crowds of the Centrepoint shopping mall, Express lifts take visitors to the observation deck at the top floor or to the famous Skywalk – an alfresco glass for a platform for a panoramic bird’s eye view of the city.

5. The Rocks

A former residence of the Cadigal aboriginal people, The Rocks is a historic area located on a strip of land protruding into Sydney Harbour and a top tourist destination in Sydney. Later when colonization took over, this was the place where the convicts from all the other colonies were sent over, and they made their tents. The cobbled streets of The Rocks have numerous shops, restaurants, a weekend market, the Rocks Discover Museum and Sydney’s oldest surviving house – Cadman’s cottage.

    • Trip to Sydney

It was a great tour organised by Travel triangle. Everything gone very smooth without any trouble. Hotels in Sydney and Gold Coast were excellent, hotel in Melbourne was average. Itinerary provided was very informative and helpful. Arranged local transportations were very comfortable. In the end I would like to thank to Travel triangle and Fantabulous which was the tour travel agent for making my trip memorable. Great ocean trip was the best memory of the trip.

    • Trip to Sydney

We are the widely traveled senior citizens chose to visit Australia and covered Melbourne, Gold-Coast, Cairns and Sydney. The services of Travel Triangle & Fantabulous are great in general and the interactions with Ishita & Narendar is really superb. Appreciate Ishita's patience and cool handling of demanding customers like me. Narendar is meticulous. But, Travel Triangle/Fantabulous need to go a long way and required to improve & innovate the "Flight-Booking-System and Method" without hurting or taxing both sides.

    • Trip to Sydney

I could customize my trip and also everything was as per plan and hassle free. i have only one suggestion- Please aware customer about the Visa deadlines when you yourself bear the cost. It costed me more and risk of not meeting deadline was faced just because of lack of communication on time. Also the victoria hotel in melbourne is good. But my experience with Novotel Rockford hotel in sydney was not good.

    • Trip to Sydney

Hi, it was our first foreign trip to Australia through Travel Triangle agent (Wanderbird Holidays) and if i tell you in one word than it was awesome. There was deflection from what was provided in the itinerary at he time of booking. hats off to Raunak, he convinced us with his great knowledge and skill and explained each and every information. he is friendly too, so there was no hesitation in asking what we dont know. our Australia tour includes three destination Gold Coast Melbourne and Sydney. the transfer facility at each airport was will recognizable and there was no confusion for us being the first time visitor. Novotel at gold coast was Avg. hotel however Crown Promenade at melbourn was awesome. At Sydney we were a little disappointed with the Rendezvous hotel, and this should be worked on . over all it was an excellent experience and worth spending through WanderBird Holidays. Thansk a lot Raunak, this trip will never be forgotten and same goes with the wander bird..

    • Trip to Sydney

It was a good trip customised to our requirement, with good hotels and planned itinerary chalked out by pick your trail, with perfect timings. Only I think the support group needs to more active, also the support group works from 7 am to 10 PM as per indian timings, but the timings in Australia are different, so they should work according to Australian timings for the guest who are on the trip Sydney Opera House and harbour Bridge

    • Trip to Sydney

Sydney boulevard hotel was not upto standard. We requested for vegetarian breakfast to Mr. Wasim at reception. First he showed his reluctance and then he said he would try. Next day at restaurant, we were informed that they did not receive any request from the reception. However chef was very cooperative and he prepared veg. meal. Everything else was excellent Many, hot air balloon, great barrier reef, bridge climb, everything was just great

    • Trip to Sydney

I am overall not satisfied with travel agent services. In the digital world, it is easy to book everything of its own. Despite this I had to engage with them at every step from booking hotel to flights to sight seeing to make sure that all overall experience be smooth. For flight bookings, small things like timings of the flight (to maximise time at Sydney) were not taken care. They didn't even book meals !! Being vegetarian I had to face issues in international flights. Worsely for one of the domestic flights, my luggage was not included in the price. I had to shell out 150 AUD additionally at the last moment !! I was not given any guidelines for baggage allowance and restricted items limit, as a result I had to loose so much important stuff during security checking. In hotels, both hotels of my choice got missed out and I had to pay so much extra amount for the left over high end room categories. Also I was not satisfied with the initial proposal of Sydney hotels (not enough thought is given into these things unless told). In sight seeing, one of my tours was not delivered as promised. I had to additionally pay approx 120 AUD for those things due to mis management from the travel agent side and despite mentioning about those discrepancies, action has not been taken. What went well ? - I found the team good in terms of having knowledge about the places and site seeing activities to visit based on occasion. The team went above in terms of explaining how things work whenever we had any booking issues and make any adjustments. The team cooperated by sharing extra amount that I had to pay for higher end hotel. Overall I am not satisfied with this model especially in the digitally informed age. There is no control in user experience once someone reaches there, you are mostly on own. Especially in international travel, when some one is spending so much money, I do not see enough value for money and time.

    • Trip to Sydney

We did not like the arrangements at all. They could have been much better planned and executed if they would have thought about their customers even a bit. After hundreds of calls, messages and emails from my husband, the final vouchers were handed to us 8 hours before our flight.. we did not even have time to take a careful look at them.. The sightseeing tours were not selected thoughtfully. Most of the sightseeings were at max 1.5 hours long and repititive like the Skydeck in Melbourne, Skypoint in Gold coast, Harbour cruise in Sydney, etc.. and then the entire day was left free, which is good for some days but not all days which was the case with us. Better sightseeing tours should have been planned. We had to book several additional sightseeing tours on Viator.com so as to be able to experience Australia.. If we would have followed only the itinerary prepared by the agent, we wouldn't even have seen a Kangaroo or Koala Bear even after spending so much money and staying for 10 days in Australia.. It was evident that the cheapest of sightseeing tours available were booked for us, for example, the cruise in Sydney was an hour long and consisted of us just sitting on a ferry and seeing the harbour without anyone telling us what we are seeing.. It was a complete waste of time, we got much more information while riding on Ferries for our visit to the zoo that we booked separately.. No pickups from our Hotels were arranged even when complimentary pickups were available with the tours booked.. No directions were provided to us regarding where to reach and how.. No information on local transport available and how to travel was provided.. We know how Google Maps work and therefore got to the specified locations, however, any aged or not so tech savvy travellers would have missed their tours repeatedly.. It was a total chaos. On top of all that, this was my husband's birthday trip and he had told this to the agent several times, but they were not even courteous enough to book us a cake.. The agent wished a very Happy Birthday to my husband on Whatsapp though.. The rooms booked for us in Sydney didn't have complimentary breakfast and were so small that there was hardly any space to stand apart from the queen bed that was provided to the 2 of us.. The upgrades were available starting at just Rs. 1500 per night but they booked us the cheapest option so that they could pocket as much money as possible.. We felt cheated time and again during the entire trip. We will never travel with HubHolidays again and would suggest others too not to make that mistake..
