How To Reach Tashichho Dzong in Thimphu

Tashichho Dzong is located in the city of Thimphu. The nearest airport to Tashichho Dzong and the city of Thimphu is located 54 km away at Paro which is the only international airport in the country and only selected flights are allowed to land. One can take Drukair, the Royal Bhutan Airlines to enter Bhutan. The flights are available from Bangkok, Kathmandu, Singapore, Dhaka, Sydney, Kolkata, Gaya, and Bagdogra. From Paro Airport, one can hire a car to reach Thimphu.

Alternatively, one can hire private taxi service from Bagdogra airport, NJP station and Siliguri stand to reach Phuentsholing. From there one can take a bus or taxi to Thimphu.

Hotels were nice and comfy in Thimpu and Punakha but didn't like the hotel in Paro much. Our driver Mr. Sangay and our guide Ms Phuntso were very courteous and helpful. Our cab was super comfy and there was no issue throughout our trip.

It was an amazing trip to Bhutan. Bhutan guide and driver were friendly and sophisticated. Hotels were good. Although we experienced cab issue while returning to Bagdogra Airport, agent arranged alternate driver. Other than that I definitely recommend travel triangle.
