Day 1: Delhi to Manali – A beautiful day spent on the road
We started our journey on the morning of 10th Jan, 2019 around 7 am. During our road travel, we stopped by “Mannat”, had our tea and breakfast there and then continued on for Manali. It was around 10 pm at night, when we finally arrived in Manali and by that time, we were a bit tired. So after freshening up, we had our dinner at the hotel only and then called it a night.
Manali Hotel: New Harmony Inn Manali
Review: This is a nice hotel with all the basic facilities. The food served here is also good.
Day 2: Manali, Solang Valley – Having the time of lives in the snow!
After breakfast today, we started for Solang Valley and too visit the snowy abode, we changed into the snow suites so that we could enjoy our time there without any hassles.
Solang Valley was an out of the world experience for us. Every flake of snow, every mountain, every view was simply majestic here! This was also our first time when it came to witnessing the snow fall. And yes, we did make a snowman and indulged in skiing, which again was too good to be true experience for us.
Later, after spending a good 2-3 hours there, we returned to our cab and went back to our hotel.

Day 3: Manali to Chandigarh – Enjoying the best of Manali
Today, we had a really busy day soaking in the best of Manali. From enjoying the mall road to seeking blessings at the Hadimba Temple, there were many experiences that we enjoyed today.
Post this, we began our journey to the next destination “Chandigarh”. It was on the way to Chandigarh that we stopped at a Shawl Factory (2 hours away from Manali). Here, there was a great variety of shawls but we found the rates to be on a higher side but nonetheless, we ended up buying quite a lot of stuff.
Upon reaching Chandigarh, we checked into our hotel at around 10 pm, had dinner, and then called it a night.

Review: Decent hotel with good food.
Day 4: Chandigarh – Witnessing the many charms of Chandigarh
Today was the day when everyone celebrated the festival of Lohri and that meant, great pomp and show and a lot of happiness and festive spirit all around.
After a heavy breakfast that included aloo parathas, veg. Sandwich, and tea, we started our sightseeing in Chandigarh.
Our first stop was Mansa Devi Temple (great spiritual experience) and it was followed by a visit to the Terrace Garden. This was a beautiful place and we loved being surrounded by greenery.
Next up was the Rock Garden and this place too was beautiful, well designed, and well maintained. We clikced many pictures here and enjoyed many activities like Camel ride etc.
The last destination on our Chandigarh sightseeing itinerary was Chhatbir Zoo and it was this place that we spent maximum time. From visiting the tiger to seeing the crocodile and a hippopotamus attracting the crowd, we had a lot of fun here, especially my kids. There were many beautiful birds and peacocks too.
Post the zoo visit, we wrapped up our trip and headed towards Delhi. It was around 7 pm that we reached Delhi and ended our tour with many sweet memories. Overall, if I have to recall, I would say it a short and sweet trip that gave us the much needed break that my family and I were looking for.
