Arambol is a fisherman village located roughly an hour’s drive from the Dabolim Airport (GOI). It is situated within the Pernem region in northern Goa. Arambol Beach is about 50 kilometres from Panaji or Panjim, the capital of Goa.
Arambol, also known locally as Harmal, is the northernmost of Goa’s beach resorts. The beach is still considered favourite among many budget-minded travellers in Goa. The beach is rather safe for swimming as well as surfing and hence, it’s often crowded during the peak tourist season. For those looking for quieter stretches of sand should visit Mandrem, located south of Arambol Beach in North Goa. The second beach can be visited only by foot. A short walk towards north brings travellers to the Kalacha Beach. The headland above the beach is considered the best spot in Goa for paragliding. Together all these beaches are about 16 km in length.
Both rocky and sandy in nature, Arambol Beach also has a freshwater lagoon or lake near the coast. The small lake is fed by hot springs and is a popular haunt for resident hippies at Arambol Beach in Goa. The laid-back environment at the Arambol Beach, coupled with the natural landscape, attracts many vacationers from other places in Goa. This long uninterrupted beach with well-made tracks is a great spot for walking.
One of the best things to do in Arambol Beach is to go for a swim or hop on a paddleboard to ride the next wave. Water sports in Arambol Beach such as parasailing, water skiing, surfing, and swimming make your trip to Goa memorable. Besides aquatic thrills, tourists can also enjoy trekking in the adjacent forest or to the Arambol Mountain. Beach walks, cycling, taking a yoga lesson, and collecting seashells are other things to do at Arambol Beach in Goa.
The beach also serves as the ultimate beach party destination in Goa. The nearby jungle, calm lagoon, and the picturesque cliffs make Arambol the perfect place for the party seekers. It is one of the best spots to enjoy nightlife of Goa. The best time to visit Arambol Beach is the winter season, between November and March.
