Ashwem Beach, North Goa

Ashwem Beach located in Goa is a stretch of sand that lies between the banks of the river Chapora in the south and the river Terekhol in the north.

Ashwem Beach in Goa is continuous with Morjim Beach to the south and Mandrem Beach to the north. Relatively quieter than other beaches in North Goa, Ashwem Beach in Mandrem is a great spot to plan a picnic with family or spend quality time on a honeymoon.

Ashwem Beach offers beautiful ocean vistas fringed by the fronds of swaying coconut palms. Ashwem Beach in Goa is famous for its fine white sand and shallow depth of the sea. The lack of too many hotels, cottages, and other units in Ashvem is a blessing in disguise for those seeking solitude at the beach. Needless to mention, nightlife at Ashwem Beach is pretty much absent. There are still a few beach huts and shacks, but the absence of beach resorts in Ashvem is an ideal situation for a peaceful day. Food varieties at these Ashwem Beach shacks range from Goan to Continental and almost everything in between.

Ashwem Beach is one of the best beaches to relax and chill in Goa. This is one of the cleanest and also the less crowded beaches in North Goa which is a rare sight on beaches of North Goa as most of the beaches in North Goa are flooded with tourists and localities. It is a perfect beach for honeymooners and people who are seeking tranquility and seclusion. It is very close to Morjim and Mandrem Beach.

Attractions in Ashwem Beach

Ashwem Beach is one of the best beaches in Goa, but there is more to explore around the beach. Some of the best attractions around the beach are -

St. Cajetan’s Church: This beautiful Church located in Old Goa resembles St. Peter’s Basilica of Rome as its architecture has been inspired by St. Peter’s Basilica. Tourists are fascinated by carvings, sculptures, and the altar of this church. This is a must-visit place for visitors as there are plenty of photo opportunities, history, and heritage associated with St. Cajetan's Church.

Chapora Fort: Chapora fort is one of the most popular forts in Goa. It came to light in recent years as one of the Bollywood hit movies “Dil Chahta Hai” was shot at this place. One can experience the scenic beauty around this place as it is surrounded by Chapora River on one side and the Arabian Sea on two of its sides.

Morjim Beach: Morjim Beach is located in North Goa. It is also called Little Russia due to a large Russian population residing close to this beach. Morjim Beach also witnesses the immigration of the well-known Olive Ridley turtles who come here for nesting and hatching every year.

Arambol Beach: Arambol beach is also situated in North Goa, and is not explored by visitors as such. Surrounded by a freshwater lake and coconut trees, it is also a great place to enjoy sunsets and paraglides. The beach has an abundance of shacks that serve numerous varieties of drinks and food and also has wifi to offer to visitors.

Shacks and Nightlife in Ashwem Beach

Ashwem Beach is not only exciting and enthusiastic during the day, it lights up even more at night. Ashwem Beach nightlife is as famous as the adventures that the beach offers during the day. One can enjoy the DJ and dance to the rhythm of their beats in the nightclubs. Some of the vivacious Ashwem Beach nightclubs and lounges offer a great experience to the tourists with their thrilling party aura and several delicacies. Various shacks and small resorts add to the beauty of this beach and make it a perfect picnic spot for families and friends.

Activities at Ashwem Beach in Goa

Ashwem Beach in Goa is a quiet beach known for peaceful surroundings and less crowded. There are no water sports activities on the beach but one can see a number of swimming, yoga, and surfing classes.

Visitors can take a lovely morning walk on the 1.5-km long beach, enjoy lunch at a shack on Ashwem Beach, and after resting in the afternoon, enjoy sunset views and explore the area in the evening. The best time to visit Ashwem Beach in Goa is October through February. This peak season in Goa also coincides with the nesting season for the Olive Ridley Turtles. Although, Morjim Beach is a better place to see these turtles in their natural habitat.

Ssklmw's 5 days trip to Goa

I'm Senthil Kumar, a 53-year-old who had always dreamed of visiting Goa. Despite numerous attempts, I never had the chance until last week when I got a one-week holiday. Although my family couldn't join me, I decided to embark on a solo trip. Initially, they were apprehensive about me traveling alone, but my daughter reached out to Goa Originals, and you made my dream a reality. From airport pickup to drop, your team took excellent care of me. Your timely calls and messages were incredibly reassuring. The constant communication between us gave me the confidence to enjoy my trip without any worries. Kudos to you and your team for the outstanding work! Thank you for making my trip so memorable. Best regards, Senthil Kumar"

Suresh's 4 days trip to Goa

On the first day of arrival due to our flight delay we checked in at hotel late at night . But even after informing , dinner was not provided for us , even though we had two small kids with us . Second , the cruise that was booked for us was not good . It was very local . If we had known about it before we would have asked to change the cruise and paid additional charges too . We are so disappointed after reaching the cruise . Thirdly , we were not informed that there will be no scuba diving and snorkeling . But it was mentioned in the package

Harshal's 3 days trip to Goa

The overall trip was good. However inspite of intimating that we would be reaching early at the hotel and to give early check in for atleast one room we were made to wait for atleast 3 hrs. I feel that should be taken into consideration. The taxi driver didn't inform us that one of the locations were to close by 5 pm and hence missed the sightseeing as it was already closed, which was another disappointment. Anyways we built good memories out of our vacation.
