About Ashwem Beach in Goa
Ashwem Beach is a stretch of sand that lies between the banks of the river Chapora in the south and the river Terekhol in the north. Ashwem Beach in Goa is continuous with the Morjim Beach to the south and the Mandrem Beach to the north. Relatively quieter than other beaches in North Goa, Ashwem Beach in Mandrem is a great spot to plan a picnic with family or spend quality time on a honeymoon.
Ashwem Beach offers beautiful ocean vistas fringed by the fronds of swaying coconut palms. Ashwem Beach in Goa is famous for its fine white sand and shallow depth of the sea. The lack of too many hotels, cottages, and other units in Ashvem are a blessing in disguise for those seeking solitude at the beach. Needless to mention, nightlife at Ashwem Beach is pretty much absent. There are still a few beach huts and shacks, but the absence of beach resorts in Ashvem is an ideal situation for a peaceful day. Food varieties at these Ashwem Beach shacks range from Goan to Continental and almost everything in between.
There are no water sports at Ashwem Beach, unlike other beaches of North Goa. However, visitors can take a lovely morning walk on the 1.5-km long beach, enjoy lunch at a shack on Ashwem Beach, and after resting in the afternoon, enjoy sunset views and explore the area in the evening. The best time to visit Ashwem Beach in Goa is October through February. This peak season in Goa also coincides with the nesting season for the Olive Ridley Turtles. Although, Morjim Beach is a better place to see these turtles in their natural habitat.
