About Reis Magos Fort in Goa
Listed under the Goa Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, the Reis Magos Fort in Goa is the oldest fort in the state. That’s right, it is even older than Fort Aguada. The fort is located on the banks of Mandovi River, in the Reis Magos village of Bardez. Reis Magos can roughly be translated from Portuguese to mean the Three Wise Men, from the Bible. Although the Reis Magos fort had fallen to ruins in the yesteryears, it has now been restored for serving as a Cultural and Heritage Centre, and has become a must visit for those going off the beaten track.
As far as the Reis Magos fort history is concerned, the fort was constructed in the year 1493, and served as an armed outpost for King Adil Shah. Back then, it was only a small structure, but when the Portuguese took over in 1541, they constructed the entire fort and a small church as well, later referred to as the Reis Magos church. The Reis Magos fort architecture is reminiscent of the Portuguese style of construction, seeing that a majority of the construction was carried out after the Portuguese arrived in Goa.
Right before the 1900s, it was used as a jail, and was later abandoned a couple of years later. With its restoration an immediate requirement, the Helen Hamlyn Trust paid for the restoration, in collaboration with the Government of Goa and INTACH. After all of the restoration was completed, the fort was opened to the general public in mid-2012. Hope this quenches your thirst for Reis Magos fort information, something that is elusive and hard to find.

Nirav's 4 days trip to GoaHotel rooms were not cleaned properly. Bed sheets were not washed properly. The cost was very high for the overall deal provided. Service provider suggested that the property is an hour away from airport however it was more than 2 hours away which wasted alot of time during travel. I had to cancel the trip to South Goa as the hotel was very far away.

Parth's 4 days trip to GoaOur Honeymoon Experience Because of the little time we had chose our honeymoon destination to be Goa. And my dearest friend who was worried more about my honeymoon than me began to make inquiries to agent about packages. She had her filters for the package almost to top-notch so she had contacted a trusted agent of hers from Gorelaxe. After few filters and on the day of wedding we still hadnt booked our honeymoon. Finally Day 1 post wedding we finalised a nice package which suited our needs. Journey began Day 1 It was a bit of chaos initially about who to contact for pickup. But all was sorted out at the end and we reached our Calangute beachside hotel The Park Gate. It was a beautiful place with beach just steps away. We were so tired still the place bought new energy. We will be so Thankful to Vishal ( agent who Co-ordinated with us) for choosing that place. The service and staff in The Park Calanguate was awesome, they never denied us anything always took trouble of seeing through our request. Day 2 We were up early to go see places according to the itinerary that was prepared by Vishal. Durdhsagar falls and spice garden and elephant ride. I would also like to mention Girish (our Can Driver/tourish guide) he was very humble and patient man. Definitely ask for Girish if you want you time in goa to be relaxed and peaceful. Day 3 This was the day for beaches. You would never be tired of idling on any Beach in Goa. We visited Baga Calangute and Anjuna beach and had so much fun. Again our driver Girish was perfect tour guide. He also managed to take us to the Forts. Special thanks to Vishal for coordinating and making the Date evening so perfect with gutarist and fine dining on a beachside Gazebo. And to top that arranged to decor the honeymoon suite. Those are my memories for life time. ӢӢ Day 4 We started late after checking out from the beautiful place we stayed in. Visited few places in south Goa. And ended the evening with Sunset on a Cruise. Will Surely recommended Gorelaxe team for planning and making your holiday special. Special recommendation for Girish.
Arun's 5 days trip to GoaThanks for the Travel Triangle. The Goa trip was awesome. Hotel, staff of the hotel all were nice and polite. And the hotel riva goldcoast is amazing, very near to Candolim Beach. Time to time agent and driver during the trip gives us the complete knowledge of sight seeing, but on last day when we return to delhi at that time the behavior of driver was rude-less.
