On the day of Janmashtami till midnight the streets of the city are decorated with lights and flowers to welcome Lord Krishna. There is no sign of dark as the whole city is waiting for their maker to born as midnight. The Dwarkadhish temple is the main place of celebration and Lord Krishna's birthday celebrations over there by all the inhabitants and visitors. Local markets are open until the midnight in case you wanna buy anything on the festival night.

The Janmashtami in Dwarka is not only about the worship there are other activities too that will make you the fan of the place. In the daytime all the boys by making different teams compete in a game which is called the ‘Dahi Handi’. At night during the celebration, there is a Shayan Arti perform by the Temple’s priest at the Dwarkadhish Temple.
