About Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in Solan

Darlaghat is a small village situated in the Solan district, Himachal Pradesh. The village is situated at an elevation of 1,800 meters and presents awe-gasping views. The village is majorly known for the Ambuja Cement plant and Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary that is situated nearby. It borders with National Highway 88, i.e., it passes through the Shimla-Bilaspur-Kangra highway.

Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary

Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 44 square kilometers. It was established in the year 1974. The sanctuary consists of subtropical forests. The sanctuary is a home for a plethora of exotic birds and animals. Some of the many animals that are found here are sambals, wild boars, black bears, jungle fowls, migratory birds such as Kaleej and Chukor.

Another highlight of this wildlife sanctuary is the many treks that are organized here. Many people flock to Darlaghat, Himachal Pradesh, just to get a glance of this awe-gaspingly beautiful sanctuary. Moreover, the climate also remains pleasing during the spring and summer season. On the contrary, during the winters, the temperature really drops low and can reach the freezing point as well. However, no matter when you plan on visiting, this sanctuary provides a landscape worth watching.

Overall had a good experience. Few issues faced which kind of made the experience average at the end. 1) Had issue with check out from the second hotel where they informed me that payment was not made. I had to coordinate with the travels at 6 AM to get this resolved (luckily one of the representa

tives picked up the call. The main contact did not pick up the call). This was not a pleasant experience as we were trying to check out fast to make sure we are able to reach airport on time for our flight. 2) Cab driver was great in general but was really hesitant to switch on AC and even switched on, he was keeping it at very low speed which did not help at all.
