About Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in Solan
Darlaghat is a small village situated in the Solan district, Himachal Pradesh. The village is situated at an elevation of 1,800 meters and presents awe-gasping views. The village is majorly known for the Ambuja Cement plant and Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary that is situated nearby. It borders with National Highway 88, i.e., it passes through the Shimla-Bilaspur-Kangra highway.
Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary
Darlaghat Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 44 square kilometers. It was established in the year 1974. The sanctuary consists of subtropical forests. The sanctuary is a home for a plethora of exotic birds and animals. Some of the many animals that are found here are sambals, wild boars, black bears, jungle fowls, migratory birds such as Kaleej and Chukor.
Another highlight of this wildlife sanctuary is the many treks that are organized here. Many people flock to Darlaghat, Himachal Pradesh, just to get a glance of this awe-gaspingly beautiful sanctuary. Moreover, the climate also remains pleasing during the spring and summer season. On the contrary, during the winters, the temperature really drops low and can reach the freezing point as well.
