Evolution of Skyline
The first notable building or the skyscraper was the building of HSBC built in the year 1936. After this, many old buildings were dismantled and gave way to high-condos comprising of offices, accommodations, and markets. Slowly and steadily many developments took place and let to the construction of notable buildings like Bank of China Tower, Standard Charted Building, Central Plaza, Cheung Kong Century, IFC2, and Wanchai Exhibition. The contemporary architecture is an amalgamation of Chinese and British style. In 2010, the tallest building of Hong Kong was built which as 118 stories named as International Commerce Centre. The skyline has developed on the Victoria harbor.
Symphony Show
Every day around 8 pm a Symphony of Light show is performed to show the liveliness and vibrancy reckoned by 44 skyscrapers and landmarks. The show is in the Guinness World Record as the largest permanent light and sound show in the world. The theme of the show focuses on 5 aspects of Hong Kong’s growth such as Awakening, Energy, Heritage, Partnership, and Celebration.
Viewpoints
The Victoria Peak, Tsim Sha Tui, and Star Ferry offer a panoramic view of Hong Kong. These three are the perfect spots to get a mesmerizing look at the Hong Kong Skyline.
