Dubare Elephant Camp in Coorg, Karnataka, is located on the magical natural island, Dubare, formed by the river Cauvery and surrounded by luscious green forests. It is an elephant conservatory-cum-training camp administered by the Forest Department of Karnataka and Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd.

Known for the Asiatic Black Elephants, The Dubare Elephant Camp offers a chance to know these magnificent creatures very closely. There are over 150 elephants in the various camps across the state according to the Karnataka Forest Department, among which majority of them are at the Dubare Elephant Camp, one of the main camps in the state.

These elephants are trained by specialists and expert naturalists guide the tourists and explain the different historical, ecological and biological aspects about them. The nearest airport to Dubare Elephant Camp

> is Mangalore Airport which is located at a distance of around 180 km. From there one can opt for a route via roadways to reach the camp. One can also choose to deboard at Mysore domestic airport or Kannur international airport which are around 120 km away from Madikeri. And then, hire a taxi or bus service to reach Dubare Elephant Camp.

To reach the camp, one can also opt for a train route. The nearest railway station to Madikeri is Myso

hotel location is not as expected, it was long away from the hill station, since we were new to the place and unaware of the location, the Traveller should have guided us with the locations (climate, ambience) etc, this was not happened, should improve, we have also had a choice to cancel the current booked hotel to a new hotel in hill station with additional cost cost too, eventhough, the Traveller did not helped, overall, with the help of driver, we went to the places to which he is well versed

Dubare Elephant Camp is located at a distance of around 36.5 kms from Madikeri and can be easily reached in around 50 to 55 minutes.

 

Food is available inside the camp for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The three meals are included if one opts for the Stay packages. However, the day visit package only includes Lunch.

Dubare Elephant Camp is located at a distance of 276 from Bangalore Airport and around 230 kms from Bangalore Railway Station. The easiest way to get to the camp is by taking a taxi from the airport or railway station. The best route would be via Mysore road.
