How to Reach Spots for Tea Plucking in Gulmarg

Gulmarg is very close to the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, i.e., Srinagar. This distance can be covered by road and in cab or bus. Sightseeing vans of SRTC also depart from Srinagar to take you around Gulmarg.

There are quite a handful of tea estates in Gulmarg that can be visited. Most of them are reachable by road and with the help of private taxis. Jeeps are also available in case of bad road conditions that require a four wheel drive vehicles. Shared jeeps as well as private ones are readily available for tourists. If you are a large group of travelers, a jeep will suit you better than a cab.

Horses and ponies are available for renting in Gulmarg in hourly as well as daily basis. You can do the complete sightseeing on horseback in Gulmarg if you love riding. If you are not used to horse riding, then you might want to avoid this means of transport since the terrain makes it quite an uncomfortable ride.

If you are fit enough and enthusiastic enough, you can walk the distance from Gulmarg town to the hilly estates, since it is not much of a challenge.
