Housing an extensive collection of over 7000 Islamic artefacts from around the world, Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM) is considered as one of the best attractions to explore in Kuala Lumpur.

Located within the proximity to Lake Gardens, it is famed as the largest museum of Islamic art in Southeast Asia. Sprawling over an area of 30000 sq. metres, this museum was founded in December 1998 in the heart of the city that can be easily accessed via any mode of transportation.

Featuring a gigantic turquoise dome on the top of the structure, domed ceilings carved with elaborate Islamic patterns, and glass walls that let the natural light flow in, the architectural beauty of the popular Islamic art museum is meant to leave you in awe. The theme of the galleries spans to: Architecture, India, China, Quran & Manuscripts, Jewelry, Textiles, Ceramics, Metalwork, Malay World, Coins & Seals, Arms & Armour, and Living With Wood. The most prominent amongst all of them is the Architecture Gallery. Exhibiting the models of some of the most amazing mosques from across the world that were curated with attention to detail, the gallery never ceases to impress you.

Apart from the galleries, the magnificent door curtain of the Kaaba- also referred to as the ‘House of God’ along with the manuscripts dating the 17th century are also quite an attraction to cherish on a tour of Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia.
