Mont Choisy Beach in Mauritius
Visit the longest beach in Mauritius - Mont Choisy Beach
Rated 4.30/5 ( based on 3339 reviews )
About Mont Choisy Beach in Mauritius
Mont Choisy is the longest beach in the north of Mauritius, stretching from Trou aux Biches and Pointe aux Canonniers for 3 kilometres. The beach forms a beautiful arc along the shimmering waters of Indian Ocean, and in the background is lined with a thousand Casurina trees, marking the start of the private property territory.
The main appeal of Mont Choisy Beach, Mauritius lies in its abundant beauty and absence of a maddening crowd, which is usually common in most other beaches of Mauritius. For almost 2 kilometres, you will find no establishments here at all – no hotels, bars, pubs, restaurants, and beach resorts – nothing. All you will find is an extensive stretch of sugary white, warm, sun-toasted sand and the crystal blue water of the sea on one side of it, and a dense forest on the other. Mont Choisy Beach is one of those which are yet to be untarnished by the clasp of commercialisation, so the landscape here is perfect and pristine.
However, that does not mean you will have to miss out on the fun. Apart from packing yourself a picnic, enjoying a whole day of sunbath or splashing around in the water, you can also indulge in glass bottom boating, catamaran, kayaking, scuba diving or windsurfing. But most activities here have to be organised out of Grand Baie. Very little is found in Mont Choisy, Mauritius itself, which is the USP of this beach. During peak seasons, you will find temporary snack stalls, food trucks or ice cream vans lurking around the beach.

FAQ's of Mauritius
Read on to find out why our customers love us!
Why is Mont Choisy Beach so deserted?
The beach is yet to be dotted with hotels and restaurants. Commercialisation has not yet reached this part of Mauritius, which is why you will not find many tourists thronging the beach, even during peak seasons.
Where can I get water sports arrangements for Mont Choisy?
Mont Choisy does not have a single establishment for an entire stretch. So, if you want to rent equipment or want guides for diving, you have to get those at Grand Baie.
