Trou aux Cerfs in Mauritius
One of the most beautiful places in Mauritius
Rated 4.30/5 ( based on 3339 reviews )
About Trou aux Cerfs in Mauritius
Trou aux Cerfs is a dormant volcano, located more or less in the center of the island country of Mauritius in Curepipe. The dormant volcano features a well-defined cone and a giant crater clogged by water, rocks, and silt. Trou aux Cerfs volcano is one of the many cones responsible for the birth and evolution of the island of Mauritius. The crater it holds is a result of the several Trou aux Cerfs eruptions during the second phase of volcanic activity that led to the creation of the island in the Indian Ocean.
Although the Trou aux Cerfs in Curepipe has been dormant for years and years, it can still be active and erupt into flames, lave, and ash within the next thousand years. The greenery around the crater is a favorite jogging destination for the locals. The nearest attraction here is the Casino de Maurice, which is the oldest casino parlor of Mauritius, set up in the year 1970. With multiple jackpot slots, roulette tables, blackjack, and poker slots, this is a great location for some night time fun, after taking in the raw natural beauty of Trou aux. A little further away, at an hour’s drive distance is Ile aux Cerfs, which the white sand beach, turquoise blue water, and coral-reefed lagoons will set you up for a perfect day at the sea. Try any water sport like parasailing, speed boating, and water skiing. Also try your hand at zip lining and Accrobranche at the Adventure Park here.
