About Alwar Fort In Alwar
Alwar Fort is located in Alwar and is also known by the name of Bala Quila. The fort is situated away from the town of Alwar atop a hill from where one can overlook the entire town. With an elevation of 1000 feet and the length of nearly 5 kilometers, the fort was built strategically. This fort was the work of Hasan Khan Mewati. After which, many changes underwent as the dynasties kept changing over time. It is one of the most amazing places to visit in Alwar since it offers spectacular views of the town. It is also termed as one of the oldest buildings of Alwar.
History of Alwar Fort
The history of Alwar Fort, Rajasthan, dates back to the 15th century when it was established by Hasan Khan Mewati. Even though its nickname Bala Quila means young fort, it is actually one of the oldest buildings in Alwar. There are six gateways in the fort, i.e., Andheri Gate, Jai Pol, Suraj Pol, Chand Pol, Laxman Pol, and Krishen Pol. There is a metalled road that goes up to the fort from the city, hence, acting as a medium to connect. This roadway is the only means of entering Alwar Fort. The fort is 1.5 km wide and offers majestic views.
This fort has been a part of many dynasties over time such as Yadavas, Marathas, Rajputs, etc. With such a glorious past, this place is no doubt a place of interest for many people. Moreover, it is one of the top things to do in Alwar. Any trip to Alwar is suggested incomplete without a trip to this majestic fort.
